George Lucas, the mastermind behind the most prominent and long-running American Sci-fi franchise, The STAR WARS has been rumoured to make his advent back in the famous trilogy. The founder of the Lucas films had sold the company, including the extraordinary Star Wars franchise to the Walt Disney Studios back in 2012 making himself a billionaire. He had made a long-lasting impact on the film industry including the fans from the whole world, and also brought new innovations such as special effects, industrial light and magic.
In fact, his vision of making films has been the turning point of the whole film industry and the way films were made. It has stimulated many of the foremost filmmakers such as Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, Peter Jackson and also many others. It has also contributed to the epic marvel film Avengers: The Endgame through its visual effect and innovations.
The news of Lucas’s return to the Star Wars have been swirling over years, reports have proved that he can be back again in the creative team. According to Cosmic Book News “Rumours are again flying that Lucas will be involved with the Star Wars again this time it’s actually claimed that he will help bankroll a new trilogy, which sounds like it would mean Lucas would be actively involved as a producer and not just an executive producer”. This means that he can be involved in a new trilogy.
The rumour arose from a YouTube channel Overload DVD “The Future Ruler of Earth”, Doomcock. This channel has been providing all the claimed inside information regarding the Lucas Films and also about Kathleen Kennedy. According to this channel George Lucas has been spotted at a meeting with Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Bob Chapek, and Bob Iger. Although he says that he’s unable to verify this news and conveys to the fans to consider this as a rumour till the official team confirms it.
In his channel, he made a statement that
“I urge you to take it with a lot of salt in particular, my new source told me, ‘Okay. More good news. The big G, George Lucas was just here with the killer’s B”. He also added that “The Big G want more input in the Star Wars going forward and is in talks to put a financial stake back into the Lucas Films ltd. If this happens, we could be looking at a new trilogy bankrolled by the big man himself”. He also confirms from his source that Disney has levied on the Lucas Films and said that “a new emphasis on increasing profits as a part of Kennedy is blamed for the decline in the Star Wars. Part of that rumoured new direction maybe George Lucas himself returning to set things right with a new trilogy”.
Since we all know about the Disney’s quarterly reports regarding the downfall of the franchise, after the release of The Last Jedi, it becomes more obvious that there has to be some changes in the team so that the franchise can again top the charts. Still, it’s best to sit back and wait for the official news.
