Some fan ideas concerning Grogu and Snoke may be valid, according to a recent behind-the-scenes shot from the filming of The Mandalorian season 3. The Mandalorian is presently the only live-action Star Wars project that might connect the original Star Wars trilogy to the sequel trilogy, taking place after the fall of the Empire in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. This has led fans to worry if the Disney+ series would be able to explain any key issues concerning the sequels, particularly about the formation of Supreme Leader Snoke and Emperor Palpatine’s return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The novelization of The Rise of Skywalker asserted that Emperor Palpatine was a clone, despite the fact that the film did not clarify either of these issues. Palpatine’s body died at the end of Return of the Jedi, but his consciousness was transferred to a clone body waiting on Exegol. However, Palpatine’s deep connection to the dark side of the Force was too much for the clone body to endure. Palpatine had to constantly switch, clone bodies, and construct Snoke in order to influence Kylo Ren and lead the First Order as a result of this. Snoke was a Strand-Cast, a genetically created artificial life form patterned on Palpatine, though not a perfect clone.

Snoke’s Return May Be Scientific

However, it remains unclear how the Empire was able to develop a clone capable of withstanding Palpatine for even a short time, or how Palpatine was able to create a Strand-Cast as powerful as Snoke. As a result, some fans believe the Imperial Remnants utilised Grogu’s blood to make Snoke and better Palpatine clones. Dr. Pershing wore a Kaminoan emblem in season 1 of The Mandalorian, while Din Djarin and his comrades discovered a lab where Grogu’s blood had been put into host bodies in season 2 of The Mandalorian.

This notion about Snoke’s creation may be genuine, as evidenced by a recent Mandalorian set shot. Three crimson Mandalorian helmets, similar to those used by the Elite Praetorian Guard in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, were seen in the photo (via Making Star Wars). Snoke’s guardians were these incredibly talented warriors. Their appearance in The Mandalorian strengthens Grogu’s ties to Snoke and hints that season 3 will focus on the First Order’s ascension.

Praetorian Guards To Capture Grogu

If the Elite Praetorian Guard already exists in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, they may be acting on Palpatine’s orders to secure Snoke’s creation. Grogu would pique their curiosity as a result of this. The Empire’s primary concern in creating clones and Strand-Casts for Palpatine was the bodies’ ability to withstand his Force connection. Grogu’s blood, on the other hand, has a high midi-chlorian count, therefore it might be used to create stronger bodies. Although the Imperial Remnant appeared to have failed in creating a powerful, Force-sensitive Strand-Cast: Snoke during Season 2 of The Mandalorian, their new supply of blood following Grogu’s capture could lead to their victory.

Furthermore, the existence of the Elite Praetorian Guard suggests that The Mandalorian season 3 will tie the destiny of Mandalore to the First Order. Din has several reasons to return to Mandalore, including the need to atone for ripping off his helmet and his unintentional claim to the planet’s leadership. However, if Din faces the Elite Praetorian Guard during Season 3 of The Mandalorian, the First Order’s origins could be found on Mandalore. They might do additional tests with Grogu’s blood there, with the goal of eventually developing a Strand-Cast that could sustain a strong Force connection. However, if Din shows up, he may stifle their growth. While the photo of the Elite Praetorian Guard helmets does not show there is a link, it does hint that Season 3 of The Mandalorian will corroborate the fan notion that Grogu’s blood was used to make Snoke.

Set Photos Indicate An Empire Invasion

Making Star Wars has released new set photographs that suggest yet another probable connection to the Star Wars sequel trilogy. The primary image depicts three crimson Mandalorian helmets that are strikingly similar to those worn by the Elite Praetorian Guard that protected Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. In terms of how the cloning the audience has already seen in the series would bind these two periods together, this would bring Din’s story even closer to that of the sequel Star Wars trilogy. Two further set shots revealed an Imperial facility’s vacant hallway as well as some sort of moored shuttle or battle device.

Viewers have been curious about who is on Mandalore since Bo-Katan disclosed that the planet is colonized. This image could support the theory that the Empire, despite having collapsed, still has a hold on Mandalore, and that it may even be one of the secret bases for the First Order’s ascension. However, the Praetorian Guard could be aboard an Imperial ship ambushed by Din, and Mandalore isn’t necessarily their home. Regardless of how these details pan out, it’ll be fascinating to watch how Din’s arc in Season 3 of The Mandalorian fits into the greater Star Wars universe.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian will be a big chapter in Din’s tale on a lesser scale. Much of his character growth and development up to this point has been leading up to the scenes teased for the next episodes. Din has an incentive to return to Mandalore after removing his helmet and being expelled from his tribe, and the Darksaber gives him a reputation among Mandalorians that puts him in a leadership position. Whether Din chooses to govern or not will likely be revealed by the end of Season 3, but this voyage appears to be shifting from Grogu’s Jedi aspirations to Din’s Mandalorian goals, which will continue to develop the Mandalorian universe.
