When Disney+ was first starting, it didn’t have many new shows for its subscribers. But the one show it did have and the show that actually put Disney+ on the map before any of the Marvel shows came about was The Mandalorian.
Now it’s been a year since Mando premiered and in the meantime, it has had two seasons and more shows have also populated the Disney+ landscape. So right now The Mandalorian is definitely facing more competition for viewer’s attention.
We should mention that the attention garnered from Gina Carano’s firing isn’t what the show must be looking for. To make matters worse, it seems like fans won’t be able to get the third season of The Mandalorian till mid-2022 at the earliest.
But fans will get to see Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett in December and it looks like that has taken Mando’s spot for this year. However, Disney has a treat for fans of The Mandalorian in the form of the Emmy’s. The house of mouse is expecting that the show will bring home Emmy’s. Here we will mention the categories and the people Disney is sending.
What Are The Categories For The Mandalorian’s Emmy Campaign?
About a month ago, The Direct found out about the Emmy campaign poster of The Mandalorian. But the poster covered only the acting part. Right now, Disney has unveiled a new poster that has all the other categories as well the people they want to get nominated.
We are going to tell you all about it, but do note that Gina Carano is still on that list for the category of Supporting Actress In A Drama Series. This comes after her firing from The Mandalorian and the larger Star Wars universe as well. Not to mention the fact that they cancelled the production of her toys as well.
Whether she returns after an unlikely win or not remains to be seen. But for now, here’s the full list containing the names of the 50 cast and crew members who are being sent for Emmy consideration.

Will The Mandalorian Win In Any Category?
The Mandalorian is going to face a tonne of competition this year not just from other shows, but from Marvel sister shows as well. For example, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision are all aiming for the same above titles.
So Disney is heavily competing with itself. But then again, if everything is Disney, then was there any kind of competition ever to begin with? However, it’s great that Dave Filoni has been listed twice on the list. If anyone deserves all the praise then it’s him.
He has consistently delivered great Star Wars content and played a huge role in the current expansion of the current Mandalorian universe. If anyone deserves to be the future of the franchise and win an Emmy, then it’s undoubtedly him.
Why Do Fans Have To Wait So Long To See Season 3 Of The Mandalorian?
Fans who are waiting for season 3 of The Mandalorian will have to wait a while since it was reported that production hasn’t even started yet due to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series still filming and lead Pedro Pascal’s busy schedule. In a Variety interview, Pascal shared that they haven’t shot anything at all for season 3.
While fans wait for season 3 of The Mandalorian, they can watch Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett which is coming December 2021. The series will obviously feature Boba Fett in the title role, but since it’s a spin-off, one can treat it as season 2.5 of The Mandalorian. Hopefully, we will get to know more about Mando then.
