Adam Warlock will reportedly make his screen debut in GOTG Vol 3 rather than the upcoming holiday special, saving the Marvel Cinematic Universe from a major blunder. This is a novel concept, but the MCU has gotten so big that it’s hard to keep track of all the different stories that have spun off from it. Because of this and Adam Warlock’s renown, it would be better to have him appear in the third volume of Guardians of the Galaxy rather than the holiday special.

Adam Warlock, a character first hinted at in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is set to be introduced in the upcoming film. GOTG’s Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter, will play an important role in the film’s conclusion. The Avatar of Life has been teased in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for several years, and now, in GOTG Vol 3, fans can finally see him.

What’s on for Holiday Special?

This year, James Gunn is putting together a TV special for Disney+ called The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special that will air before the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise arrives in 2023. While not a complete film, the special will serve as a prequel to Vol. 3 and carry over the storylines established in the previous films. If Adam Warlock does appear in the special, it isn’t clear how much of a role it will play in the film.

According to a recent tweet from writer and director James Gunn, the first time we’ll see Warlock is in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and not in the holiday special. In spite of the fact that Adam Warlock won’t appear in the special, it’s a good thing because it would have been a bad idea to force viewers of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 film to watch a one-off Disney+ special in order to understand it.

While it’s fun to see Disney+ shows tie into the MCU films, this is a limited solution. As with WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it makes sense for a viewer to see one show before seeing a movie. Nevertheless, the Holiday Special seems like a fun but unnecessary story, so it would be a terrible idea to make it mandatory viewing to understand the overall series.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is likely to be a success, but because it is a streaming service spin-off, many people who saw Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will not see it. However, the introduction of a new character that is so crucial to the success of this film would only confuse the audience.

In light of the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown too large for the general public to keep up with, it makes sense to reduce the importance of seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to a mere recommendation. Although the Holiday Special was billed as a must-see event, there are still many viewers who would not bother to tune in. In light of this, it’s a great deal that Adam Warlock will be introduced in the third volume of Guardians of the Galaxy rather than the holiday special.
