Since the last trailer, Spider-Man fans have been waiting with bated breath to discover more about the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, one question has taken over social media. Will previous Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appear in the film? An unusual source may have just confirmed this narrative element.

Earlier today, the Graham Norton Show account, which is run by iconic Irish comedian, talk show host, and light entertainer Graham Norton, tweeted a promotion for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The image linked to the tweet, a Spider-Man: No Way Home billboard featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s incarnations of Spider-Man alongside Tom Holland’s MCU version, piqued Twitter’s interest.

People leapt on this, assuming it was some leak. However, it appears that this was a mistake made by the social media team. The image in the tweet isn’t from an official poster. Instead, Instagram user zerologhy edited the two Spider-Men into the original Marvel poster.

This fan poster has gotten a lot of attention online, with various sources covering it. The image has, of course, risen in Google’s search ranks as a result of the buzz. As a result, it’s possible that someone on The Graham Norton Show’s social media crew googled the movie and then saved and posted the fan modification rather than the official poster, not noticing the difference. They had no idea how much of a stir the image would create on social media.

Looking through the tweet’s many reactions and quotation retweets, it’s evident that many users haven’t realised this is a fan-made poster. Many people are chuckling at the prospect of Marvel’s biggest (and possibly worst-kept) secret being revealed by someone like Graham Norton. Others are playfully insinuating that Norton or his crew will be punished for this error, referring to Kevin Feige’s infamously strict anti-spoiler policy.

“Congratulations, Graham, you’ve made Kevin Feige’s hitlist,” one joked.

Regardless of the poster’s validity, this incident demonstrates how eager fans are to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield don the iconic Spider-Man suit once more. Hopefully, fans will get their wish when Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in theatres on December 17th, 2021.
