James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is working towards delivering a unique and more sinister experience as compared to the other films in the trilogy. The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise underwent a number of scheduling issues. But now, the third and final film is moving forward in the process. Ever since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 began in 2017, fans have been excited to see how James Gunn will conclude the mysterious trilogy. In addition, the film is set to introduce Adam Warlock into the MCU. From what Gunn has suggested, the film is going to surpass audiences expectations in surprising ways.

Gunn’s Tease For The Upcoming Finale

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a particular plot setting and premises for its intergalactic projects. The Guardians of the Galaxy flips the usual, mundane tone into something truly mesmerizing. Gunn has created some of the coolest fan-favorite characters from their dubious comic book renditions.

Not only that, audiences have greatly appreciated Gunns choice of background score in the franchise. All these elements will be present in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. But Gunn also plans to play around a little with the concept. As a short switch, Gunn went off to DC and created The Suicide Squad. But the director is back in the MCU, and he plans on offering fans a dark and unusual finale.

It is possible for some people to take the news about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 being dark and different with skepticism. Gunn isn’t particularly known for creating bright, farcical MCU movies like Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok. However, his films do contain a humorous touch. And fans have always showered their praises for his work. Now that Gunn has decided to take a darker approach, the film stands in the way of a sure-shot success.

But instead, all this talk is only hyping up the performance that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to put up. Marvel Studios is confident in Gunn and his story. The production is aware of the stakes because the franchise is dropping the finale six years after the previous installment. While the movie will still have household aspects and the franchise’s mainstays, Gunn also plans to astonish fans this time around.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Will Be Dark But Different

A dark and unique sequel will serve as a formula for success for the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The franchise kicked off its first installment with an exciting celestial adventure. There was humor, and there was an immersive plot. Whereas the second installment was a more sincere effort, as it touched upon the unforeseen death of Yondu. Following which, the Guardians of the Galaxy saw emotional twists and turns. Thanos’ genocidal snap and Gamora’s death and return only set the basis for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to dive deeper into its storytelling.

In addition, the directory reveals seem to ascertain fan speculations regarding the tragic events of the movie. Rumors are that Rocket and Drax will probably not make it to the end of the movie. Gunn has already practiced killing off DC characters with The Suicide Squad. It wouldn’t be surprising if he eases in on the concept of unexpected deaths of important characters into the MCU as well.

What More To Expect From The Final Chapter

The High Evolutionary as seen in the Marvel Comics

The fact that Guardians of the Galaxy will be a sinister take on the franchise is not necessarily a bad thing. Gunn’s tease for the movie does not mean that the audience will sulk throughout the sequel because they expect a comic-centric sequel. In fact, Guardians of the Galaxy will break out of the box to offer something entirely new.

Paired with Adam Warlock’s MCU debut, the film is also expected to introduce High Evolutionary as the main villain. High Evolutionary had past connections to Rocket. And he is a formidable entity. The looming danger that comes over the galaxy with his presence will drive the film towards darker places. With that said, the film will still revolve around an acceptable, PG-13 surrounding that suits the overall tone of MCU projects. However, a sinister and unique take on the Guardians of the Galaxy finale raises the expectations of fans who are impatiently waiting for the 2023 release.
