Harrison Ford has played several memorable roles in many of the best-loved film series in Hollywood history. The actor was most known for his portrayals of Han Solo in the Star Wars films, Indiana Jones, and Rick Deckard in the Blade Runner movies. Taking over for the late William Hurt as General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross, Harrison Ford’s casting is being hailed as one of the MCU’s greatest coups.

The actor will first be seen in Captain America: New World Order and then again in Thunderbolts, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Suicide Squad starring Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and others.

A recent leak, however, suggests that this Thunderbolt Ross won’t be like the ones we’ve seen before; instead, he’ll be the President of the United States and most importantly the Red Hulk. After leaving the military, General Thunderbolt Ross becomes the Red Hulk, a major enemy of the Hulk in the Marvel comics.

An account on Patreon known for scooping and leaking information, “@DanielRPK,” claims that two important plot points may be gleaned from a description of Harrison Ford’s role in Captain America 4.

“The former Lieutenant General of the United States Army and Secretary of State, now President of the United States. Using radiation siphoned transformed Ross into the Red Hulk.”

It would be a big development for the MCU if this were to come to pass, but it would make sense after the audience has forgiven or forgotten the upheaval that accompanied the Sokovia Accords in Captain America: Civil War. In the comics, Red Hulk evolves into an anti-hero, which bodes well for the introduction of the Thunderbolts, a squad named after Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross.

As president, he and CIA Director Valentine Allegra de Fontaine would be able to hand-pick operatives like US Agent, Winter Soldier, and others. There is, however, one snag: Dermot Mulroney is rumored to portray the president in Secret Invasion. Is Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross considering a run for politics as a result of the series’ reception? As always, only time will tell.
