Cavill is undoubtedly prominent among the Hollywood A-listers. And fans continue to love and support the actor for his transparency about his other interests in life. Cavill is famous for collecting tabletop miniatures and playing video games. His eager affection allowed him to portray Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher so efficiently. The Netflix series immediately turned into the streaming giant’s most-watched shows following its 2019 release. The critical acclaim and uproar got the franchise even to announce several sequels and spin-offs.

As of now, The Witcher Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 17. The show will take off from where Season 1 concluded. Seeing how phenomenal The Witcher’s success turned out to be, actor Henry Cavill teased his fans about possible participation in a Mass Effect TV adaptation. Cavill talks about his involvement in Mass Effect.

Actor Henry Cavill recently sat for an interview with GamesRadar+. In conversation, Cavill wholeheartedly expressed his views regarding the possibility of appearing in a TV adaptation of Mass Effect. Cavill talked about his genuine liking for the Mass Effect series by saying they were “[b]rilliant games.” The actor also revealed that he would be willing to star in a live-action adaptation. However, he had some caution, like how the creators would “execute” their vision. This sounds somewhat like his approach towards The Witcher franchise as well. Check out Cavill’s full comments below:

“Very much so, yeah, all depending on how they’re executing it. The world of adaptation can be heavy or light. When I like a product, I prefer the adaptation to be less changed from the source, so it all depends… I think it’s found a home, hasn’t it? If [the series] finds a home, I would love to have a conversation … I did not play [the most recent Mass Effect game] Andromeda – I had a go at it, but ended up being very busy. But [The Mass Effect Trilogy]? Yeah. Loved it. Brilliant games. It would make such a magnificent series of movies or TV shows.”

More fantasy shows are coming on television alongside The Witcher

Mass Effect is not the only video game adaptation fleshing itself out following the massive success of The Witcher series. Reportedly, HBO’s adaptation of the popular post-apocalyptic zombie game, The Last of Us, is anticipated to hit the TV screens sometime in 2022. The show is believed to include Pedro Pascal as leading man Joel.

Mass Effect video games

We are still uncertain how the fantasy genre is bringing itself to light. The franchises already have a rooted audience in the form of an infinite number of original games players. The Witcher and Mass Effect will approach the source material with an open-minded route. Meaning, the shows will likely be diverse in their plot, genre, and characters. However, actor Henry Cavill is brilliant in what he does. And he is more than capable of performing in multiple major franchises while still making each character his own. Thus, he would be a solid contender for any Mass Effect role.
