Henry Cavill’s most noteworthy characters have a foreboding showdown in a circulating piece of The Witcher vs. superman fan artwork. Henry started playing the role of Superman back in 2013 with Man Of steel and became a household name. He went on to reprise the role of Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League before becoming a full-fledged action star with 2018’s Mission: Impossible — Fallout. After the lukewarm reception of Justice League, Henry’s future is uncertain in DCEU. Though this has a silver lining-he plays the role of Geralt in the Witcher.
Netflix’s adaption of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s books premiered its season 1 as a mass success. Rich source material from the books and massive fans from the video-game adaption had many people rooting for it. Cavill, who was also a huge fan of the video games (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), felt like he could justify the character of Geralt of Rivia. And fans think he aced it as Geralt, right from his body language- to his looks-to his voice; he served the source material from the books and games.
Eren Gürocak, a digital photographer, took to Instagram a picture showcasing his 31k followers, Henry’s two iconic characters. In the artwork, superman is flying over Geralt:
It is a statement piece as Geralt appears bigger and up close, and Superman appears distant and adorns lesser space in the iconic showdown. Henry will reprise the role of Geralt for season 2 of The Witcher. It is uncertain whether he will ever be seen playing superman again, sparing Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Since warner bros have more success in standalone films like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam! and Joker, it is understandable if they do not want to resurrect crossovers.
Though it is rumoured that the studio isn’t confident that Henry cannot lead a new movie himself, Henry has yet assured the fandom that cloak is very much his.
Cavill has had too through rigorous physical training for the roles he played. He built a lot of muscle mass to play superman and trained for his fight scenes as he played all himself in The Witcher and Mission: Impossible — Fallout.
He was praised for these roles, and fans claim that he stood out in The justice League. We don’t know if we will see him in the Son of Krypton’s cloak again, but we will surely see him slaying monsters as Geralt of Rivia for the foreseeable future. And this was symbolized in Gürocak’s artwork. His role as Clark Tent in superman left its own legacy and gave us The Witcher Star.
