Henry Cavill Is Being Paid Around $1 Million Per Episode For The Witcher

Netflix’s original fantasy series The Witcher has won worldwide acclaim from viewers and critics alike. As the show’s lead actor, Henry Cavill has a massive hand in this success. Cavill is the perfect person to play Geralt of Rivia. This is why it is not a shocker to learn that Netflix is paying the star a lot of money for his role.

According to sources for The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill is being paid a whopping amount of more than $1 million per episode for the second season of The Witcher. The number is extraordinarily more as compared to his previous season. In which he reportedly pulled in about $400,000 per episode.

How Cavill’s involvement has fared well for the show

Considering how Cavill’s graph of growth as a star has only seen a higher mark, seeing him make this kind of money is pretty much expected. The actor’s demand has increased significantly in recent years. Also, it is now impossible to picture another actor taking on the role of Geralt. Cavill is not just the perfect cast for the role, but the actor is intensely passionate about the character.

The first season of Netflix’s The Witcher made its debut in 2019. And two years later, the franchise is ready for its second season to make its impact felt. The streaming giant renewed the series way before the first season was released. Thus, proving the show’s certainty for success.

This confidence seemed to have been confirmed because soon after its release in December 2019, The Witcher won the audience’s hearts. This also brought in more users to the brand’s existing counterparts, including the original novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD Projekt Red.

The couple of years that followed the first season’s excellent debut were quite strenuous. With the coronavirus pandemic and some on-set injuries, the entire production team has seen a lot of hardships. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. And with the show’s production finally wrapped, we are more than excited to see whether the upcoming season will deliver what it has promised.

Netflix still has a mine worth of content to explore from, given Sapkowski’s extensive works. And the impending season has convinced us of its grandeur. Fortunately, fans only have less than a month of waiting to do.

The Witcher Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on December 17th. In the meantime, you can go back and stream Season 1 on the platform.
