The second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been released, increasing excitement among fans. It teased the epic scope of what audiences can expect when the film opens in theatres on December 17th, with new details about the plot and a closer look at the various villains.
Immediately, Twitter users expressed their joy and excitement, and the tweets did not disappoint. For some, returning characters and the villain’s costume design brought back memories of their favourite shows of the past. Other fans posted amusing memes and insightful tidbits on social media.
It’s been a long time since many of Spider-Man’s most infamous foes, including Green Goblin and Doc Ock, have appeared on the big screen. To this day, Willem Dafoe’s performance as the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man is regarded as one of the greatest villains in all Spider-Man films.
y’all don’t understand the chills i got hearing his voice. we won #SpiderManNoWayHome pic.twitter.com/x1I4dzItp9

After a brief tease in the first trailer, the Green Goblin’s original suit was finally revealed in the second trailer. Dafoe’s voice as the Green Goblin, of course, added to the chills. The return of the Green Goblin in the trailer is a huge win for fans, and this Twitter user’s perfect meme expresses that sentiment perfectly.
When a film’s trailer is released, fans will pore over every detail to see any hints as to what might happen in the movie. The Lizard appears punched by an invisible opponent in a fight scene from the Brazil version, which some people found suspicious.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are rumoured to have been secretly incorporated into the film’s 3v3 battle against the villains. A hilarious tweet by @YuaiSnekBoi contains the moment into a scene from the movie The Incredibles. As a result of the blunder, the fans’ suspicions about Maguire and Garfield’s return as Spider-Man have been raised to a new level.
In the second trailer, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were not shown, despite the belief of many fans. However, the trailer has hinted at their presence, almost as if an invisible Spider-Man had punched the Lizard.

At this point, Twitter user @TASMFELICIA recreated the thoughts of Spider-Man’s fans by referencing a well-known meme. In this meme, the two Spider-Men are blurred out, which echoes the scene’s digital obliteration of the characters.
#8 When Fans become Trailer Detectives.
As a fan, it’s not uncommon for you to become a “trailer detective” and decipher the storyline and possible revelations from the trailers.

One Twitter user, @wqndasmind, shared an insightful tweet about how fans are interpreting trailer analysis. That scene from Venom: Let There Be Carnage in which Venom smiles when he sees Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is featured in this trailer. This tweet sums up everyone’s feelings perfectly. This post-credit scene from Let There Be Carnage could also explain the events in No Way Home.
#7 Not a single mention of Andrew and Tobey’s in the new trailer
While some moviegoers may debate the inclusion of Maguire and Garfield in the trailer, others can at least take a breath of relief. Other fans, on the other hand, we’re disappointed that they were unable to make the trip.

As one of those fans, Twitter user @dstnbrwr shared sad Spider-Man images to represent their disappointment. There is, of course, the possibility of a final trailer before the film’s release, so all hope isn’t lost.
The absence of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the second trailer did not please fans, so a surprise appearance from them is what they are hoping for. It’s not an easy task to keep a secret like this one, especially when so many leaks have appeared on the Internet.

It’s not clear what Sony and Disney are up to behind the scenes, but @big_business_ hilarious tweet sums up their anxiety to keep Maguire and Garfield’s appearance a secret. While No Way Home is out in a month, keeping the secret a secret for even a single minute is difficult.
Doctor Strange’s relationship with Peter Parker is depicted as strained in the second trailer. He blames Peter for interrupting him with the spell in one scene.

While Doctor Strange’s reproach was criticized by some (like @wyliesdaya on Twitter), he was the one who cast it. Dr Strange should have known better than to throw a dangerous spell, and he should share in the blame for his actions.
A new look for Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gives him a second chance to redeem himself as a villain in the Spider-Man universe.

Electro in the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man film received a lot of criticism, including for his costume design. Fortunately, Electro’s costume appears to have been improved and incorporates his famous electrical-like headpiece. @civiiswar remarked on Electro’s new outfit.
More details about some of the villains in No Way Home were given to moviegoers in the second trailer. All five confirmed Spider-Man villains were compared to their current state on Twitter by @spideysnew.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the villains featured in a trailer. As a bonus, seeing these villains return to the big screen hints at the multiverse’s grand scale or how a player relates to it.
In the second trailer, Peter attempted to save MJ from falling from a building, which was one of the most shocking revelations. Gwen Stacy’s death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was undoubtedly brought back to mind at this point.

Many fans, including Twitter user @nacaomarvel, found these parallel moments triggering right away. Fans’ reactions to reliving this heartbreaking moment are best exemplified by this user’s use of Michael Scott’s words. Fans don’t want to go through this again!
It was a coincidence that some of the best trailer reactions focused on MJ’s harrowing fall from a high-rise building. All live-action Spider-Man depictions so far have had common parallelism with Gwen Stacy’s death.

As @b0hemianrapcity pointed out on Twitter, Sam Raimi’s MJ also falls from a bridge in this parallelism. Kirsten Dunst’s MJ, unlike Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy, survived. As a result, the user’s assertion that a love interest will fall at least once in one’s life makes sense. Whether or not Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is quick enough to save Zendaya’s MJ is now up for debate.
