The Witcher’s universe is expanding as prequel The Witcher: Blood Origin will happen and showcase the story of the first Witcher and Henry Cavill could feature in it. In the ’90s, fans were introduced to a mythical universe with many characters, including monsters, sterile mutants, witches, and kingdoms.

Such a dose of magic got the people hooked and kingdoms in the Witcher book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The books were adapted into role-play action games in the late 2000s. In 2019, its live-action version titled The Witcher was premiered and became one of the biggest hits produced by the giant Netflix.

The Witcher in TV stories was narrated differently from books or games as three core characters were the focal point but were indifferent timelines converging towards the end of the series. The three core characters were namely Geralt of Rivia ( Henry Cavell), Princess Ciri (Freya Allan), and necromancer Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). The franchise of universe is ever-growing with an impending release of season 2; an anime spin-off called The Witcher: Nightmare of the wolf and prequel The Witcher: Blood origins.

We know witchers are immortal, and therefore Geralt has been around for a very long time. The Prequel Series The Witcher: Blood Origins is set 1200 years before current events involving Geralt of Rivia. Geralt is not even born in The six-part series of the prequel. However, it does not mean that Henry cannot appear in the show.

The series will narrate the origin of the very first Witcher, and we know Geralt was not born at the time, but henry could appear as another character, perhaps, as the first Witcher. Witchers are sterile mutants, which means that Geralt cannot be biologically descendant of the first Witcher. But, if he plays the part of the first Witcher, it can show parallels between them.

Henry can also appear in the prequel in flash-forwards to draw a parallel between him and the first Witcher or showcase how actions of the first Witcher have had a ripple effect in the present world. This will also solve the prequel’s scheduling problem. Filming of season two of The Witcher pushed due to Coronavirus pandemic hindering the schedules.

Though season 2 of The Witcher has wrapped up shooting, Blood origins have not even started. We are not sure which one of the two is going to come first. If Cavill appears in the prequel, he could feature in clips from the main series as flash-forwards. He could also be a narrator and describing to the audience (possibly ciri) a tale of the first Witcher.

Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia is one of the best parts of the show, and even though there is a difference in Geralt of books and henry’s interpretation, it has served the story in a good way. So Geralt’s presence in some form will do fan service in prequel irrespective if Geralt is a part of it. Fans are eagerly waiting whether season2 will come first or the prequel The Witcher: Blood Origins.
