Fans are wondering who Starfox is after seeing him in an Eternals post-credits sequence. The Marvel Comics character, also known as Eros, has a long and storied history, but this is the first time he has appeared in a live-action film. Despite his absence from the MCU thus far, his appearance could have significant ramifications for the series’ future.

Despite being one of the most talked-about aspects of the film, Starfox doesn’t appear until the very end of Eternal. Starfox introduces himself to the Eternals Thena, Makkari, and Druig, who had planned to leave Earth on a mission to find more members of their race. Starfox, played by Harry Styles, tells the trio that fellow Eternals Sersi, Kingo, and Sprite are in grave danger and that he knows where to find them. As well as having a mystical sphere that allows him to communicate with the Celestials, he also has a companion named Pip with him.

Due to his appearance and powers, Starfox’s inclusion in the film raises serious doubts. Considering the character’s backstory and onscreen introduction as the “brother of Thanos,” audiences may wonder what impact Starfox might have on the MCU and whether or not he will be a force for good. So who is Starfox? Here’s everything MCU fans need to know.

Explained the Marvel Comics Origin of Starfox’s character

Another member of the Eternals, a genetically altered branch of humanity that left Earth and settled on the Saturnian moon Titan, is Eros in Marvel comics. Despite growing up in the same household as his older brother, Thanos, Starfox has developed a distinct personality from the genocidal Mad Titan.

As a result, Starfox turned into a carefree adventurer who was more interested in seducing Marvel characters and traveling across the galaxy than pursuing a mission to exterminate half of all life, which he used to crave. Aside from his regular relationships with members of The Avengers, he rarely stays in one place for long because of his independent and daring nature.

Starfox’s battle with Thanos is a recurring plot point in the comics. At one point, Thanos even claims that Starfox is to blame for inciting his desire for death, leading to the trail of destruction that Thanos leaves across the galaxy. After Thanos’ first attack on Titan, Starfox began to take his powers and abilities a little more seriously. He used them on several subsequent occasions to thwart his dangerous sibling. Starfox’s absence from the MCU’s Infinity War conflict with Thanos raises many questions about how he will appear in future MCU installments.

The Marvel Comics Powers of Starfox

Starfox, like all Eternals, has a wide range of extraordinary superhuman abilities, including durability, strength, longevity, immunity to disease, and even flight. However, his most notable ability is his ability to exert psychic control over the emotions of less powerful beings. His ability to use rudimentary mind control makes him an extremely potent and potentially dangerous force in the Marvel Universe.

Starfox is descended from Thanos does not mean that he is as hardy as his peers. Furthermore, he is shown to be easily defeated by non-Eternal weapons, such as guns and knives, on numerous occasions. As a result, while his mind-control abilities make him a serious threat, he is not nearly as physically intimidating as his brother.

Why Thanos’ Brother Isn’t Purple & Human

Thanos and Starfox’s ancestry is the source of their vastly differing appearances. In contrast to Starfox, Thanos suffers from the Deviant Syndrome, resulting in some Deviant characteristics. This explains why he has a purple coloration, deep lines on his chin, and a large frame. Eros, on the other hand, retains the Eternals’ more human characteristics.

But Marvel has since confirmed that Thanos is a true Eternal, despite his connection to the Eternals’ mortal foes. In Eternals #6, it is revealed that despite his differences from the Eternals and other Titanians, he still has a strong bond with the other members of the Eternals team, including his brother Starfox. Despite the obvious differences between Josh Brolin’s brooding, the muscular portrayal of the Mad Titan, and Harry Styles’ more mischievous, youthful appearance, there are understandable reasons for the contrasts.

In Marvel’s Eternals movie, Harry Styles portrays Starfox/Eros.

After months of speculation about whether Harry Styles would make his MCU debut in Eternals, his appearance as Starfox/Eros seems like a logical choice. Given the character’s historical reputation as a carefree charmer, an actor like Styles, who has become so iconic in pop culture, is an excellent choice.

Aside from that, Styles is making a name for himself in Hollywood as an actor. He made his film debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk in 2017 and will soon star alongside Florence Pugh in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling. According to this resume, it appears that he is more than capable of succeeding as Starfox.

The Future of Star Fox As An Avenger

While his appearance in Eternals is limited to a brief cameo, Harry Styles’ Starfox may well be set for a more substantial MCU involvement. Starfox has long been an essential member of the Avengers, especially during the team’s numerous battles with Thanos. In particular, Eros played a major role in the original Infinity Conflict against the Mad Titan and was later accepted into the Avengers training program. The defeat and destruction of Thanos at the end of Avengers: Endgame means that his onscreen appearances may have to change.

A possible connection to the Guardians of the Galaxy could be the reason. Gamora is believed to be the host body for Thanos’ consciousness after the Infinity Conflict in the comic book source material. Starfox forms the so-called Dark Guardians to find her. Because Gamora vanished after Endgame, Starfox’s onscreen involvement in a search for her would make sense. Since the Eternals storyline is riddled with inconsistencies, Starfox may only appear in future storylines that focus on the Eternals themselves. The future of Starfox in the MCU is open to many exciting possibilities.
