Here’s How Ant-Man 3 Will Change The MCU Forever

San Diego Comic-Con confirmed Jonathan Major’s time-traveling villain would be the next significant danger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the introduction of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Even though he made his film debut as He Who Remains in Loki, he’ll get his due as a villain in Ant-Man 3.

Cassie Lang, played by Kathryn Newton, will make her heroic debut as Stature in the next threequel, which will also go into the Quantum Realm. When Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Quantumania would present critical pieces of the mythology that led to the following two Avengers films, he was referring specifically to how it would set the stage for those films.

To that end, the upcoming third installment will have far-reaching consequences for the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the course of history itself. This time, the film’s director and star actor gave their opinions on how Quantumania affected the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although Peyton Reed’s Marvel series began small, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a must-see for future MCU events. After Marvel Studios identified Quantumania as the beginning of Phase 5 at their Hall H presentation, Reed suggested that the movie might have enormous implications for the future of the MCU.

How Ant-Man 3 Will Affect the Marvel Cinematic Universe

At Comic-Con this year, Peyton Reed and Paul Rudd were interviewed by several media sites on the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sequel. According to Reed and Rudd, “kicking off Phase 5” is a huge accomplishment for their project.

Access: “The response in Hall H was insane. I mean, tell us, how you feel about getting that energy back for the film kicking off Phase 5.”
Reed: “We are kicking off Phase 5.”
Rudd: “You guys look amazing.”
Reed: “Yeah, this is fantastic, I feel underdressed.”
Rudd: “I know I’m underdressed.”

As a result, Marvel’s director suggested that the movie would revolutionize the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever, acknowledging that it’s terrific to have Scott Lang at the core of that shift:

Access: “It’s okay, we know you had the suits.”
Reed: “No, it was… the energy was great. And yeah, kicking off Phase 5 is really exciting for us, because, we’re the Ant-Man movies. It’s our third movie. It’s this trilogy now. But things happen in this movie that are going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe permanently. And it’s fun for us that Scott Lang is at the center of that change.”

With the help of Reed, who spoke with Entertainment Weekly, Reed revealed how Quantumania differed from its predecessors and introduced a new dynamic within the Scott family, including Scott, Cassie, and Hope, and Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror.

“Well, I think we were thrilled to get to do a third Ant-Man movie and do a trilogy. And we knew if we were gonna do that we wanted to do some things differently. We really wanted to take a hard left turn and make a movie that was even more epic, but still progress the story of these family dynamics. And everything that’s going on between Scott and Hope and Cassie… Cassie, who’s now 18 years old, and maybe Scott doesn’t quite know how to relate to her as an adult, because he lost those five years from the events of Endgame. And we also knew that we wanted to put our heroes up against a very, very formidable opponent, and we were very fortunate.

Why Phase 5 of the MCU will begin with Ant-Man 3

To launch Phase 5, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania will have Kang the Conqueror as its primary antagonist. This Multiverse Saga prepares Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, to take over as the MCU’s version of Thanos. He Who Remains was initially featured in Loki as a variation of the multiverse conqueror.

Majors announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 that the conquest would continue in Ant-Man 3, which Ant-Man and the Wasp will discover while traveling through the Quantum Realm. As the MCU strives to establish Kang as a plausible despot in advance of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025, Majors’ prophecy will likely come true.

Phase 4’s introduction of the next generation of Avengers will continue in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. Cassie Lang, Scott’s daughter, will be played by Kathryn Newton. For years, she’s wanted to help people like her father in the dangerous Quantum Realm.

Among the new characters introduced in Ant-Man 3 is M.O.D.O.K., one of the Avengers’ most famous adversaries from the Marvel comics, which might significantly influence Phase 5. New tales and concepts may be explored in the Quantum Realm, making Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania a perfect choice to launch Phase 5.
