Fans admire British actor Henry Cavill for his remarkable performance on screen. But that’s not all. Cavill is relatable to people because he is an avid gamer and a fantasy enthusiast. The actor has been a great fan of The Witcher books and games for quite a while now. Even before he was offered to play the role of Geralt Rivia. Henry Cavill’s dedication towards the franchise is what allowed him to flesh out Geralt so impeccably in the Netflix iteration. Needless to say, the product of his hard work has highly impressed viewers.

Cavill Sneaks In A Dialogue From The Books Into The Show

Recently, Cavill seemed to be in a Polish interview administered by Marcin Zwierzchowski. The interview, translated by Redanian Intelligence, revealed how Henry Cavill managed to incorporate certain dialogue from the books into the second season of The Witcher.

In fact, the actor did not even discuss it with the crew. But the sleight of hand worked, because the dialog made it to the final cut.

“There is a fragment right at the beginning of Blood of Elves where Geralt loses consciousness on Sodden Hill. Geralt experiences a vision at the moment and talks to Death. Then, beautiful words are uttered about crossing the meadow and the fog,” Cavill told Zweirzchowski. “There was no such scene in the series, and these words captivated me with their poetry. They were so wonderfully ‘Sapkowski’ that I wanted them to be spoken by my Geralt. However, I did not feel like having a long discussion about whether I could add this bit somewhere. So I just did it, said the words in front of the camera, and was ready to face the consequences. Eventually, this issue hit the mark in Season 2.”

The Scene Referred To Was Very Interesting

According to a report by Redanian Intelligence, the scene appeared in Something More. Nevertheless, Henry Cavill trying to inculcate a factor from the book into fruition is quite compelling.

When a work of fiction is converted into a televised version for consumption, sticking to the details gets tricky. There are so many elements that never make it to the final product, for whatever reason. But it appears as if Henry Cavill’s involvement in the show was beneficial. Mainly because he tries to bring justice to the source material. There aren’t many actors who are capable of showing an interest so lasting.
