Daemon Targaryen is the character in House of the Dragon who has captivated everyone with his charming face and devilish ways. But after how season 1 ended, what will The Rogue Prince do in the next season? We will talk about that here and explain how his actions will parallel Aegon the Conqueror’s.

How Will Daemon Targaryen In Season 2 Parallel Aegon The Conqueror?

King Aegon Targaryen the first, was the first king of the Targaryen dynasty and its founder. He had 3 dragons- Balerion, Meraxes, and Vhagar, and used them to conquer Westeros.

He first landed on King’s Landing (then known as Blackwater Rush). The first castle he took was Harrenhal, the biggest castle in Westeros, and the first battle he raged was with Harren the Black. Aegon bottled up Harren and his men in the castle. When asked to surrender, Harren completely refused as he considered Harrenhal to be impenetrable.

Aegon then used Balerion to burn the castle. And his fire was so great that it melted the towers of the castle like candles. Harren and his men were roasted alive.

Just like Aegon, Daemon’s first step in season 2 will be to take the fight to the Greens, and he will do that by first establishing a base at, you guessed it, Harrenhal. In season 2, he will definitely attack the castle and use it to attack the nearby places and areas. So just like Aegon the Conqueror, Daemon ‘The Rogue Prince’ Targaryen’s first step in war will be to take Harrenhal.

The Curse Of Harrenhal Will Continue

Harrenhal was burned down by Balerion, The Black Dread, on the very day it was completed. Later on, as we saw in season one, Sir Harwin Strong and his father were burned to death as well. As Sir Harwin said, there is a curse on the castle since legend says Harren mixed human blood with the mortar.

That blood, along with the deaths in the castle, and Harren’s hubris are thought to be the cause of the curse. And surprisingly, Harrenhal hasn’t been held by anyone for long periods as its rulers often face an early demise. It now remains to be seen if Harrenhal’s new owner, Sir Larys Strong, the brother of Sir Harwin Strong and Queen Alicent Hightower’s supporter, will befall the same fate or not.
