In the MCU, superheroes are extremely advanced technologically. This obviously means that there are a host of scientists in the MCU who are the brightest mind on the planet and maybe even in the universe. So let’s see 10 of the smartest scientists in the MCU ranked in order.
1. Reed Richards
Mr. Fantastic is generally regarded as the smartest man on Earth and rightly so. He is one of the only people who has mastered all the sciences including, electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, electronics, chemistry, physics, biology and beyond. He created a machine called the Bridge which allows him to look into different realities and hold meeting of the Council of Reeds.
2. Shuri
She is the future of the MCU. Easily one of the smartest minds present right now and even smarter than Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. Shuri creates all the cool Wakandan Technology that we se on screen including the EMP beads, sonic stabilizers and the Black Panther suits. She also figured out a way to save vision during Infinity Wars by remapping his neural synapses and separating him from the Mind Stone.
3. Tony Stark
He is obviously a genius as he himself as proclaimed. From creating the arc reactor and Iron Man suit from just metal scraps to constructing the Time Machine used in the MCU during Endgame, this man has done everything that was otherwise deemed impossible. His creation of Ultron was also commendable despite it backfiring…a lot.
4. Bruce Banner
Now known as Smart Hulk, Bruce Banner was a child prodigy and eventually became a nuclear physicist and also got 7 PhDs. Despite not being able to recreate the super soldier serum, Bruce has achieved a lot. From creating Ultron to helping find Loki by tracking heat signatures of the Mind Stone he has had a successful career. He also helped create Hulkbuster and managed to put his brains and brawns together to make Smart Hulk.
5. Arnim Zola
This man was far ahead of his time. As the chief scientist of HYDRA in the MCU he harnessed the power of the Tesseract and created many weapons. He also led the Super Soldier Program and turned Bucky into the Winter Soldier. His greatest achievement has to be the program he created to predict potential threats to Hydra and saving his consciousness as an algorithm well after his death.
6. Hank Pym
He is another brilliant scientist who discovered the Pym Particles. These Particles were extra-dimensional subatomic particles that facilitated the change of size. These particles also allowed entry into the Quantum Realm and thus made Time Travel a reality. Hank Pym also created the Ant Man suit and Quantum Vehicle.
7. Erik Selvig
The goofy yet extremely smart astrophysicist Erik Selvig furthered the world’s understanding of the Universe before anyone else. After all, Loki wouldn’t have chosen him as his scientist if he didn’t think he was intelligent enough. He played a very important role in defeating Malekith during Thor: The Dark World.
8. Helen Cho
Despite appearing in only one movie in the MCU, Helen Cho proved her brilliance. As a geneticist she invented the Regeneration Cradle to synthesize skin tissue. She was essential to the creation of Ultron and even helped heal Hawkeye’s injuries using her knowledge of biochemistry.
9. Doctor Abraham Erskine
The man who created the Super Soldier Serum and turned the lanky little Steve Rogers from Brooklyn into Captain America. Just like Zola, Erskine was an important asset for the Allied Powers and contributed to their victory in WWII
10. Rocket Racoon
The MCU has taught us to never underestimate this racoon. Rocket is one of the smartest beings and can create weapons and bombs out of absolutely anything. He has escaped from over 20 prisons and even broke through the Kyln by hacking into their systems.
There are way too many bright minds in the MCU and we couldn’t fit them all in this list. So here are a few more special mentions to the others. Darcy Lewis could tap into the radio waves of Wanda’s sitcom despite several of the best S.H.I.E.L.D. agents failing at it. Jane Foster too is a brilliant scientist and a great superhero too. Howard Stark was also a great scientist who worked for S.H.I.E.L.D and greatly contributed with his inventions.
