If She-Hulk is 100%, CGI is accurate, and we know Marvel is not stepping down from setting the bar high. She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany as Bruce Banner’s cousin and lawyer, Jennifer Walters, is Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series for 2022. Mark Ruffalo will reprise his roles as both Smart Hulk and Dr. Bruce Banner in this half-hour legal comedy, as well as Tim Roth’s Abomination and Jameela Jamil’s Titania.

Marvel Studios has been slowly laying the groundwork to prepare for the series. Besides Abomination’s appearance, Mark Ruffalo appeared as Banner in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ post-credits scene. On Disney+ Day, Marvel also released an exclusive first look at the new series and Maslany in her highly – anticipated MCU role.

While fans know what Ruffalo’s Smart Hulk will appear like in the story arc, Marvel has just shown glimpses of Maslany’s transformation. CGI, makeup, and prosthetics, or a combination of the three, have been the subject of much speculation. Although She-Hulk’s Disney+ premiere is still months away, Tatiana Maslany has a response.

How much of She-Hulk Being 100%, CGI Is true?

She Hulk

Tatiana Maslany, who plays Jennifer Walters in She-Hulk, revealed to the Scott Hasn’t Seen podcast that “it’s all CG” when asked about her character’s future appearance on Disney+ when she goes green.

“It’s all CG… I’m in mo-cap the whole time. I’m on platforms with mo-cap where I have a little head on the top of my head…”

She-Hulk being 100% CGI shows that Marvel isn’t tinkering with the formula for this new series. They’re adhering to the studio’s longstanding policy of shooting Ruffalo’s Hulk in the same manner. It’s not just Ruffalo and Smart Hulk who filmed with a “little head” on top of their heads; Josh Brolin and even Shang-appearance Chi’s by the Abomination all did it.

For the sake of the film’s animators, the extra height and head are used to develop a line of sight for that performer’s fellow actors. She-Hulk was inspired by both Dan Slott’s 2004-2007 She-Hulk comic run and Charles Soule’s 2014-2015 run, according to Maslany. Similarly, Marvel’s Hawkeye on Disney+ drew its inspiration from Matt Fraction and David Aja’s successful Hawkeye comics, which debuted in 2012.

Being She-Hulk Green isn’t easy

This decision to use CGI for Jennifer Walters is probably the best one for the show. This is even though many in the film industry prefer special effects and makeup over CGI. Visually, having Maslany on-screen with a CGI Hulk or Abomination would not be a good idea. Although the designs may be equally impressive, they would only accentuate their disparity.

CGI has not dated the Marvel films or detracted from their overall quality in other movies and franchises. The audience response to Smart Hulk in Avengers: Endgame was overwhelmingly positive. Now that we know that Maslany’s Jennifer Walters will be computer-generated, fans are eagerly awaiting her reveal. Furthermore, finding out how it contrasts with the work the production company has done with Ruffalo before.
