Emma D’Arcy never imagined herself becoming a meme. The House of the Dragon actor is speaking out about becoming viral after explaining her favourite drink to co-star Olivia Cooke on TikTok. In the infamous HBO Max clip, Olivia asks Emma about their favourite drink, to which Emma responds, “a Negroni Sbagliato, with Prosecco in it.”

Emma D’Arcy Opens Up With The New York Times
While talking to the interviewer of The NY Times, Emma D’Arcy says that she feels embarrassed because of the meme. Shy nature is a part of Emma D’Arcy, as she also hesitated while opening up to HBO about her gender identity.
In the interview, she said, “I feel so embarrassed because in those interviews when we’ve been at it for six hours, I’m honestly only trying to make Olivia laugh.”
Emma continued to say, “I keep thinking I should tell my mum that I’ve become a meme in the hope that she’ll be happy for me,” however, “I’d have to explain what a meme is, and I’ve decided it’s too much effort.”

Fans have been obsessed with Emma D’Arcy since she was first seen in House of the Dragon, playing the elder Rhaenyra Targaryen, now Queen Rhaenyra. With the show’s massive success, especially for carrying the Game of Thrones brand name, it seems almost impossible for the Westerosi lords and ladies to care what we peasants think (crude way to depict fans, I agree).
In general, viewers of Game of Thrones have praised the series, while it has sparked some controversy owing to some of its more explicit themes. The same theme is carried in House of the Dragon, which is why select audience and praise.
