The fact that one of the greatest superheroes of all time will be revived in a movie five years after his demise in his standalone story serves as tons of evidence that no one is really gone forever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a recent interview, Jackman outlined how they managed to revive Wolverine and bring him into the MCU, promising fans that Deadpool 3 wouldn’t alter the Logan timeline.
Deadpool 3 Took Place Before Logan
Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine and is about to debut in the MCU, discussed how Deadpool 3 fits into the Marvel continuity alongside his last X-Men movie, Logan.
Logan director James Mangold commented on Jackman’s return, and Jackman said that “he was actually quite cool about it. I did inform him that it happened before our film, so I wasn’t going to mess with the claws popping out of the grave. So he was relieved, and he completely understood. He thought it was a brilliant concept.”
“All because of this technology they have in the Marvel world of shifting around timelines, now we can go back because, you know, it’s science, so I don’t have to tamper with the Logan timeline, which was essential to me.” “And, I believe, to the fans as well,” Jackman stated.
“None of us wanted to mess with it.” I was quite pleased with the movie and what we accomplished, and it seemed just right. And for five years, I was really, honestly, I can tell you, sort of a hard done, I was like, “This is it.” It was August 14, I was driving, and it simply hit me like that. I just thought it would be a lot of fun. “I’m sure I’ll have more pleasure making that movie than anything else I’ve ever done.”
Wolverine & Deadpool Hate Each Other
Jackman was asked about the relationship between Wade and Logan in the movie.
“How do I categorize it?” “We’re zero; we’re opposites; we despise each other,” he stated, referring to the number ten being extremely near to zero. “I’m just speaking from my perspective; Logan is frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him, or wants to hit him in the head.” Unfortunately, in this film, he can’t be a million miles away from him, so I’m going to punch him in the head a lot.
