Hulu and Marvel’s brilliant adult animated series “Hit-Monkey” has been renewed for a second season.
Hit-Monkey viewers on Hulu had long since come to terms with the show’s cancellation.
The show premiered in late 2021, lasted 10 episodes, was well received, and then went dark for over a year. But the recent announcement has made fans happy. Fans are overjoyed for the show’s return.

The renewal comes more than a year after the show first aired in November 2021. The show is based on the same-named Marvel Comics character. Hit-Monkey is a wronged Japanese primate who witnesses the slaughter of his entire tribe. He is then mentored by the ghost of an American assassin named Bryce Fowler in his pursuit of revenge against the Yakuza who wronged them both.

Will Speck and Josh Gordon are the writers and executive producers of Hit-Monkey Season 1. Before it was decided that it would be a stand-alone series, it was initially planned as a component of a shared universe that would have eventually led to a TV special called The Offenders.
Hit-Monkey and Bryce’s journey from Japan to New York City will be followed in the upcoming season. Hit-Monkey is voiced by Fred Tatasciore. Jason Sudeikis, Ally Maki, and other voice actors, including Olivia Munn, are all returning for season 2. In addition, Leslie Jones will play an undisclosed role in Season 2 of the show.

Hit-Monkey Has Lost Its “Marvel” Branding

Initially, Jeph Loeb produced four adult animated Marvel series for Hulu, including “Hit-Monkey.” The four 2019 shows were greenlit by the now-defunct Marvel Television. “MODOK,” “Tigra & Dazzler,” and “Howard the Duck” were among the others. The idea was to release all four projects before uniting them in an event series named “The Offenders,” much like Marvel TV did with its Netflix live-action shows or Marvel Studios did with the “Avengers” movie.

However, Marvel Television was folded into Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios around this time, and the studio chose to only produce shows that fit inside that vision. That is why they ended up at Hulu. Only MODOK and Hit-Monkey were produced out of the entire group, and MODOK only lasted one season. MODOK debuted in May 2021, followed by Hit-Monkey six months later.

As a result of all of this, “Marvel” is no longer included within Hit-Monkey’s second season title. It is only the second show to be given a new life in the Marvel Studios era. Daredevil, from Netflix, is receiving a dazzling new Disney+ relaunch titled Daredevil: Born Again.

The second season of Hit-Monkey is now produced by 20th Television Animation, and the show’s creators, Josh Gordon and Will Speck, continue in their roles as executive producers.

Season 2 of Hit-Monkey is “coming soon” to Hulu, though no date has been announced.
