Infinity War Question Raised Following Secret Invasion’s MCU Timeline

As one of several upcoming Marvel TV shows, Secret Invasion raises some interesting questions about the events leading up to Avengers: Infinity War. There will be a new phase of MCU expansion with Phase 4, which will include both films that connect to each other and enhance the stories on the big screen. There are already several MCU shows that will be broadcast solely on Disney+, and Secret Invasion is one of them.

Taking inspiration from the well-known Secret Invasion storyline from Marvel Comics, this film will reunite fans with some of their favorite MCU characters. Following Captain Marvel, Secret Invasion will bring back Thalos, Maria Hill, Everett K. Ross, Rhodey, and Nick Fury to further explore the Skrulls’ story on Earth. A big question surrounding Avengers: Infinity War is raised by the fact that Secret Invasion is set during the Blip, as opposed to the other MCU TV shows.

All Because Of The Blip

Thanos

It was all about Thanos finally obtaining the Infinity Gauntlet and all of the Infinity Stones in order for him to wipe out half of the universe in order to bring “balance” to it in Avengers: Infinity War. One of the most perplexing aspects of Avengers: Infinity War is the disappearance of several key characters, including Maria Hill and Nick Fury, during the “blip.” There’s a lot of speculation that Marvel’s Secret Invasion will leave a massive plot hole, but this could actually be a sign that Maria Hill and Nick Fury, who vanished during the events of Infinity War, were actually Skrulls disguised as humans.

During the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Nick Fury is revealed to be a Skrull. Avengers: Endgame resurrected half of the universe’s life; Spider-Man: Far From Home was its first MCU film to deal with its aftermath. It was revealed in the movie’s post-credits scene that the characters Maria Hill and Nick Fury were actually disguised as Skrulls Soren and Talos, while the real Nick Fury was seen instructing a Skrull spaceship.

Swapping Places

After Avengers: Infinity War, it’s not clear how long Fury was in space and why Talos took his place on Earth. but Secret Invasion has Fury back, and it’s possible that the one who disappeared at the end of Avengers: Infinity War was Talos disguised as the real one. Talos could be taking his place in Secret Invasion while the “blip” is taking place, allowing the title invasion to take place.

With each new movie, more questions are raised about MCU characters and events, increasing the likelihood of retconning and plot holes. With Secret Invasion, we’ll get a glimpse into life after The Snap and before the events of The Avengers: Endgame, and we can only hope that it clarifies some major mysteries like what occurred to Maria Hill and why Nick Fury and Talos swapped positions.
