Ironheart will be introduced to the MCU with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There have been quite a few scenes that were filmed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT. Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams also attended the very same university. In fact, MIT has been a location that has been visited by the MCU even before. According to some reports, the Ironheart series will see Riri Williams get kicked out from MIT because she did other students’ homework in exchange for money so as to fund her projects. This will bring back one obscure and weird character who was portrayed by Jim Rash in Captain America: Civil War.

The Ironheart series will obviously see Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams and Anthony Ramos’ The Hood. But Jim Rash is also set to make an appearance. Rash is best known for his role in the TV show Community where he worked with both Anthony and Joe Russo. He will be reprising his role as an MIT liaison. He might even play an antagonistic role to Riri Williams as she has been expelled from the University. It will be quite fun to find out what his character has been up to all these years. Another question that looms is whether or not he was able to create that self-cooking hotdog. Some fans are even speculating that he may have gone on to become the dean of MIT although it does sound pretty unlikely.

During Civil War, Iron Man goes to MIT and holds a seminar. During that, he demonstrates a new piece of technology known as B.A.R.F or Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing. It was essentially a holographic illusion technology that allowed its user to recreate and relive old memories. Funnily enough this piece of technology was created by none other than Quentin Beck aka Mysterio. Tony Stark showed his last memory of his parents before they died in the car crash which basically means they were killed by Bucky.

After his presentation, he gives a speech announcing the research grant that was being awarded to each and every students. This would provide them with proper funding to move forward with their own inventions and ideas. When he walks off the stage he meets an MIT liaison played by Jim Rash who pitched him his new invention idea of a self-cooking hotdog. Naturally the scene was merely meant to be a comic relief and an ode to the Russo brothers and Community. In fact, the MCU has seen several cameos from actors who played pivotal roles in the show Community.

Every Community cameo in the MCU

These cameos mainly appear in Avengers Endgame. The first one involves Ken Jeong, who played teacher Ben Chang in the sitcom. He plays the role of the security guard who lets out Scott Lang aka Ant Man from the storage facility where he was trapped within the Quantum Tunnel. The second cameo was a little later on in the movie during the Time Heist. Yvette Nicole Brown, who played Shirley Bennett in Community plays the role of a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent in a secure facility in 1970. Captain America was there to retrieve extra Pym particles from Hank Pym’s Lab. Brown’s S.H.I.E.L.D. agent noticed his suspicious actions and reported it to security. Looks like we will soon have another Community cameo in the MCU soon enough.
