Brie Larson is set to star in two of the biggest blockbusters of 2023, joining the Fast & Furious franchise as Tess in May’s Fast X while also playing the leading role of Captain Marvel in November’s The Marvels. In the latest issue of Total Film magazine, Larson shared new insight into her role as Tess in Fast X, the tenth movie in the Fast & Furious saga.

Larson revealed that joining a franchise like Fast & Furious had always been a dream of hers, calling them “films that make you want to go to the theater” and shared how amazing it is to join a story that big. Larson even admitted to begging to be in these movies for years, and despite being an actor since she was a child, being part of something she loves feels amazing.

Larson teased the action her character will see, including an epic fight scene at the start of the movie that took two days to film, and another scene taking place in Rio with everything happening at once.

Making ‘Fast X’ was different to any other movie because it’s solely focused on the concept of family, Larson said. She even based her character off of Vin Diesel’s daughter. Larson highlighted franchise regular Vin Diesel, and how the times she went to dinner and parties with the cast and crew were all part of Vin’s process to bring everybody together.

Despite her impressive resume over the past 20 years, Brie Larson’s role in Fast X was high on her list of challenges she wanted to take on. Larson has been active on social media in celebrating her time working on Fast X, giving fans insight into her relationship with Vin Diesel after joining an adventure that Diesel has built from the ground up over the past 22 years.
