The moment it was revealed that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool would be entering the MCU, there was a huge level of excitement among the fans.

Many people expected Marvel Studios’ fixation on the Multiverse would play a role in the narrative. Reynolds, on the other hand, had another surprise in store for his MCU appearance.

Following Marvel Studios presentations at both the San Diego Comic-Con and the D23 Expo, Reynolds stated that Hugh Jackman would reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3.

While fans were ecstatic, the announcement raised even more crossover concerns, especially given Wolverine’s death in 2017’s Logan.

But Logan Is Dead In The Fox Timeline

One of the most essential aspects of Jackman’s comeback is that it will not have any impact on what was executed in Logan, which many regard as one of the finest comic book films ever made.

If it isn’t a continuation, the Wolverine who appears in Deadpool 3 will almost definitely be a variant. This would also fit with speculations about Owen Wilson’s Mobius appearing, which could possibly point to TVA involvement.

Given that Fox never kept track of their X-Men chronology very well, another variant of Wolverine shouldn’t confuse too many people.

Hugh Jackman Is Not Here To Stay

With Hugh Jackman’s return as the savage Wolverine, one thing is certain: This version of Wolverine is not here to stay. Marvel Studios is already focusing on introducing mutants by dropping hints. The mutant storyline, which is expected to be the main emphasis of the MCU after the multiversal chapter, will have a completely new cast for the X-Men. With a few outliers, such as Ryan’s “Merc With A Mouth.”

Hugh is clearly doing this film because of the fans and his bond with Ryan Reynolds. His role as Logan ended in 2017, and I don’t think Hugh Jackman is ready to accept a ten-film agreement with the MCU.
The Wolverine in the MCU’s X-Men will be portrayed by a new actor.

If the reports are accurate and Marvel is indeed adapting the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe storyline, the X-Men will be given a fresh start by wiping out the Fox-Verse to begin with. It’s evident that Jackman’s Logan will have nowhere to go and will have to stay in the MCU. Which I doubt will happen, therefore they may have to kill Wolverine again on the big screen in order to establish a fresh Logan for the MCU’s Mutant saga.

Hugh’s Wolverine, though, is not gone. He will almost certainly appear in the epic multiverse crossover film Avengers: Secret Wars. According to a recent rumor, Marvel Studios is looking for classic Marvel actors such as Hugh Jackman and Tobey Maguire for Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel fans wanted the MCU to regroup and recover after the events and popularity of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. What those very same fans didn’t realize was how Marvel would attempt to top the finale of the Infinity Saga, if at all.

While the latter has yet to be confirmed, Marvel’s plans are starting to come together, with the newly crowned Multiverse Saga targeting Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars.
