The third and likely final film in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy series is entering the home stretch of principal photography, with a theatrical release set for 2023. James Gunn’s Marvel return might be one of the most anticipated films on the upcoming Marvel Studios slate, and fans will be glad to hear that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is leaning even harder into practical effects and makeup than its predecessors.
But, apart from all that, fans seem to be surprised at the premiere of the movie. James Gunn, the director for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has infact advised fans that something special is certainly coming their way as a gift for being an ardent fan of the franchise. The tweet establishes that there will be prominent and rewarding cameos to blow our minds off when the movie premieres. Here’s the tweet
So Who Could The Cameos Be?
For one fact that we know is that, the principal photography of the movie will involve the Guardians, who will be doing their usual job of bringing the beats and lasers into the galaxy. Will Poulter is set to play the powerful Adam Warlock in the MCU. Adam Warlock was previously introduced in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to be born in a Golden Case.
The rest of the cast also includes Chukwudi Iwuji, who is rumored to be playing the High Evolutionary for the MCU. The High-Evolutionary is a character that is supposed to have been introduced in the MCU’s Eternals as a being who is also a part of Arishem’s group of beings. The role is played by the Peacemaker Star, whom James Gunn praised to be an exceptional star, to play the role.
Sylvester Stallone is also said to reprise his role as Stakar Ogord as one of the Ravagers previously introduced in Vol. 2. The last time we saw Stallone play the role, he was busy creating his team to stark on his set of missions that may seem to take shape in the MCU post the exit of the Guardians. Seeing Gunn himself say that the story of the Guardians will have an emotional and fitting ending, it seems that it may be Stallone’s time to bring cheerful madness back to the MCU.
Could The Cameo Be Kevin Bacon?
Earlier, Kevin Bacon was rumored to be playing an unidentified role in the movie. Could this be the cameo James was telling us about? Surprisingly, we aren’t shocked. It’s true that the MCU and Reality haven’t much in common; could it be that Kevin Bacon himself plays a role in the movie or be just Kevin Bacon himself? We may never know.
Along with Vol. 3, Gunn is filming the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. which could indicate that Bacon has a role in the upcoming Disney+ entry focused on galactic misfits. Whether he shows up there or in Vol. 3, the simple fact that he may join the MCU adds yet another round of star power to this constantly expanding narrative.
According to the leak, on March 24 and 25. Marvel decorated a street in the Atlanta
Country Club and made it look like Beverly Hills, California, during Christmas for the filming of an upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy project.
Rick And Morty?
Rick and Morty Figures were on set
Gunn being a huge Rick and Morty fan has the fans also conspiring this to be a Rick and Morty scenario too. James Gunn tweeted some tweets a while ago with a picture of him holding a Rick action figure and another tweet with him saying about Justin Roiland’s visit to the set. He clicked a picture of Squanchy and Mr. Meeseeks from the set.
So could Justin Roiland play a significant role on GOTG Vol. 3? Gunn’s tweets say about giving back to the fans, so this may be a way to reward our love and appreciation to the movies and the cast. Gunn is a man who knows the tricks to stitching humor and tears out of anything. So it’s high time, you carry those tissues for a wild adventure.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters in early 2023.
