The sequel to the wildly popular series that started the Disney Plus era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gained its first new cast member. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is about to begin filming, so we’re starting to learn who will be joining Kathryn Hahn in the production. Following Wanda-Vision’s great success in early 2021, Marvel lost no time in announcing a spinoff project for Hahn’s popular wicked witch, Agatha Harkness. And to begin with, Marvel has secured a former cast member of one of the most anticipated Netflix shows of 2022.

Joe Locke is slated to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe after receiving widespread praise for his portrayal in the LGBTQ+ drama Heartstopper on the streaming service Netflix.

The upcoming Wanda-Vision spinoff Agatha: Coven of Chaos on Disney+ has cast the 19-year-old British actor. He will reportedly portray a grownup Wiccan, according to reports.

The MCU’s Billy is one of the most well-known young LGBTQIA+ heroes, so the biggest hope currently is that Marvel will reveal adult versions of Wanda Maximoff’s twin kids, Tommy and Billy. There’s a chance that Locke will portray a more mature version of Julian Hilliard’s character, letting Billy use his abilities and, in a sense, work under the guidance of Hahn.

This would also allow the introduction of Hulkling, which was originally scheduled for Wanda-Vision before COVID-19 disrupted the schedule. If Locke were to portray Billy, this series might provide Marvel the opportunity to change the introduction plan, paving the way for one of the most famous comic book romances and a few important Young Avengers.

However, there has been some speculation going around lately, and if true, this show might build the foundation for a future Young Avengers venture. Apparently, casting for three enigmatic characters that resemble Billy and Tommy Maximoff (also known as Wiccan and Speed) and Teddy Altman, also known as the Hulk, is now underway at Marvel Studios. There is a certainty that Locke has been cast as the Wiccan because they are reportedly seeking an actor between the ages of 18 and 20 to play a gay man with a “gentle soul” and a “great sense of humor.”
