Lady Gaga is joining the cast of Joker: Folie à Deux, and rumors suggest that her character will be the movie’s answer to Harley Quinn. It is speculated that both characters will be patients at Arkham State Hospital, and it is inevitable that Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck will escape from there. He will likely enlist the help of his romantic partner Harley Quinn, and one official still from the duo in the Joker sequel already revealed that the movie is getting the romance between the characters right.

The upcoming Joker sequel is going to be a musical and has been compared to La La Land. The burning down of Arkham Asylum would allow Joker and Harley Quinn to both physically escape, and would be a great set piece in the musical theme to represent the characters breaking free of their mental bounds. The burning down of the facility in Joker: Folie à Deux might be the catharsis Arthur needs to fully become the Clown Prince of Crime.
