Marvel Studios are considering Keanu Reeves for several roles in the MCU. While many of these roles have not been disclosed yet, sooner or later, they will be known to the public.

In case you did not know this already, Keanu Reeves turned down the role of Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel. If facts claim valid, he was compelled to do so because of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which had a conflicting release date. So instead of Keanu, Jude Law was cast as Yon-Rogg.

Certainly, Keanu Reeves’ box office prowess might have made Yon-Rogg seem out of place. Furthermore, Yon-Rogg is a villain, making the character too far off from what fans expect of Reeves. Had he taken the role, could you imagine Reeves instead of Law alongside Brie Larson? If Keanu Reeves were ever to accept the role of a villain, would it bring justice to his Matrix role? Nonetheless, the following list, compiled by insiders, represents some of the characters that Keanu is speculated to take on in the MCU.

The Ghost Rider

The subject of Ghost Rider has been broached before. As a huge motorcycle fan, seeing him on one of those bad boys would undoubtedly be a treat to the eyes. *Goodbye old flashes of Nicholas Cage on a motorcycle.* While Keanu may have not necessarily expressed his desires to play the Ghost Rider, The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus has. In an exclusive interview with Comicbook, Reedus said the following:

“The Ghost Rider conversation has been coming up for years, and yeah, tell them to put me in it. I want to play Ghost Rider.”

There’s no denying that fans of the Walking Dead have been clamouring for Reedus to take on the role of Ghost Rider. Regardless, he hasn’t signed anything just yet. As a result, the position is still up for grabs, making Mr Reeves a plausible candidate.

The Sentry

The Sentry

According to an insider, Keanu Reeves has also been considered for the role of The Sentry. Robert Reynolds, aka The Sentry, is a superhero with the “power of one million exploding suns.” This character is one of Marvel’s most formidable villains. His archenemy, the Void, makes him even more dangerous at the same time. However, Sentry’s Void is a distinct entity.

The Sentry’s memories are the only reason the Void exists. If Reeves were to ever able this character’s role, it would be an intriguing sight to witness. This is mainly because both have quite a few similarities. Reeves and The Sentry lie under the same age range. Because the villain’s story can be isolated, Keanu Reeves can make that happen however it wants to do so. Nonetheless, it also doesn’t need to be a multi-narrative movie.

For a large number of fans, Henry Cavill may also seem like the perfect fit. This is because they see The Sentry as Marvel’s version of Superman. However, Marvel Studios, on the other hand, doesn’t let that influence their choices. To make matters more interested, we already have found our Marvel superman. (5 points if you know who it is!)

Corsair

Corsair fathered the X-Men’s Cyclops and Havok. Undoubtedly, the Starjammers are not being actively developed. Nonetheless, once James Gunn leaves the Guardians of the Galaxy, Starjammers will fill that Void. Once this valorous sci-fi team makes its debut, Keanu Reeves might as well find interest in playing Corsair.

Franchise Man

Keanu Reeves has played the field with every genre possible. Be it romance, comedy, drama, action or sci-fi, and Reeves has done it all. And now, with talks about his acting skills being out to test in the MCU, KR’s comic book obsession has made fans believe there’s a new superhero on the way.

After writing his latest comic character under the helm of Boom Studios, Reeves has expressed his desires for a live-action version movie. This is, of course, if Marvel/Sony/Netflix ever were to make an offer. In an interview with Esquire, Reeves discussed Marvel Studios offering him a role in the MCU.

It would be an honor. There’s some really amazing directors and visionaries, and they’re doing something that no one’s really ever done. It’s special in that sense, in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it would be cool to be a part of that.

To no one’s surprise, Mr President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, affirmed that they were just as interested, but “want to want to figure out the right way to do it”:

We talk to him for almost every film we make. We talk to Keanu Reeves about it. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.

Will Keanu Reeves join the MCU anytime soon? Most definitely! Thanks to his new comic book superhero, we are confident that he’ll land one of these roles. This is irrespective of how long it takes.
