Spider-Man: No Way Home broke box-office records like a boss. Everyone still remembers the unprecedented hype for the film. Fans continuously theorized about plot points, characters, and cameos in it. Everyone will also remember that one of the first appearances in the movie that got leaked was of Doc Ock played by Alfred Molina. And the actor has now revealed that he got in hot water for it.

Sitting down for an interview with Radio Times, Alfred Molina revealed that the Marvel Studios boss had some tough words for him. This was after he accidentally leaked that he was in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Doc Ock. He said:

“I got into a bit of trouble over the last iteration because I happened to let the cat out of the bag quite innocently. Just accidentally, I was talking to a journalist who said, ‘So, you know, how’s the Spider-Man movie going?’ And I went, ‘Oh, great thanks’. Then literally the next day, Variety was like, ‘Alfred Molina reveals Doc-Ock returns’.”

He said that after this mishap Kevin Feige was pissed off with him:

“I got into such trouble. I was getting phone calls from Amy Pascal, Kevin Feige was on the red carpet somewhere and somebody asked him about some Marvel movie and apparently he got a bit snippy and turned around and said, ‘Ask Alfred Molina’.”

All’s Surely Well Now Between Marvel And Alfred Molina

The months and days leading up to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home must have been nerve wracking for all actors involved in the project. After all, actors were repeatedly asked about their involvement in the movie. Some like Andrew Garfield denied it till the date of release but sometimes it did get out, like in Molina’s case because an interviewer caught them off-guard.

But a year has passed after the release of the blockbuster movie. As such, we don’t think Kevin Feige or Amy Pascal are still upset at Molina. After all, leaks from actors are something Kevin Feige and co., have to frequently deal with. Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, and the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, have over the years leaked multiple plot points. So the studio is used to it and are quick to reconcile with talent.

Will Alfred Molina return as Doc Ock again in the multiverse saga going on at Marvel right now? We don’t think so, especially considering how his arc ended in No Way Home. But who knows. So stay tuned for more news.
