There was a contest in the first episode of House of Dragon where prince of different houses were fighting one another to win the contest and earn reputation among all of Westeros.

In this context, we all were so convinced by the evil sight of Daemon Targaryen, the Commander of the City Watch, that he will butcher everyone out there and win his way to the ‘Favor’. But, his biggest competitor in that competition was Ser Criston Cole.

Who Is Ser Criston Cole?

Ser Criston Cole is a common born and was son of the steward to Lord of Blackheaven. As of the first episode we have seen how fierce a knight he is of the Dornish descent.

He has a noble demeanor and prowess in battle is impeccable. Prince Daemon is one of the strongest knight in Westeros. But, Ser Criston Cole is stronger even in hand-to-had combat than Prince Daemon.

Later in the show, he will be the one who will rise to become the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard for Viserys.

In the book, Criston Cole becomes the Hand of the King for Aegon II, during some form of war. In the television series, House of Dragon, the character of Criston Cole is being played by Fabien Frankel.

After the fight of the knights, Prince Daemon fell on the ground and got up to challenge Criston Cole for a hand-to-hand combat. But, eventually Prince Daemon failed and Ser Criston Cole won the battle, and gave chance to Daemon for yielding, while he held the weapon right above his face.

We must wait and see how this character will be brought up to the scene in the future. As of the first episode, Rhaenyra Targaryen is now announced as the Heir to the Iron Throne after Viserys. All seven kingdoms have showered their loyalty towards the new heir and took oath to protect her and the kingdom.
