We all want to see Luke Skywalker on our screens again. And if a report by Giant Freakin Robot is to be believed, then Disney and Lucasfilm are indeed talking about making a Luke Skywalker Disney+ show.

Disney and Lucasfilm haven’t commented on this, but an insider confirmed that there were talks. However, they said that they didn’t know just far along those talks were.

The insider said:

“There have been talks about a Luke solo show – but nothing concrete has happened yet.”

This insider went on to say that the Luke Skywalker project could be further along in development at Lucasfilm than anyone was originally aware of. So if there’s truth to this report, then it will be amazing.

This information comes after Luke Skywalker’s cameo in the sixth episode of The Book of Boba Fett, which for all intents and purposes is functioning as season 2.5 of The Mandalorian.

In episode 6, we saw Luke and Ahsoka as well as Luke and Grogu. He even asked Grogu to choose between being a Mandalorian and a Jedi (we think we know what path he will choose).

Overall, there were a lot of scenes, and this time young Luke looked great compared to his appearance in season 2 of The Mandalorian. It looks like Mark Hamill still helped bring Luke to life, even though there was one change.

This report of a new show comes after Lucasfilm and Disney bolstered their CGI deepfake department. For example, it was revealed some months back that Lucasfilm had hired the Youtuber who fixed Luke’s appearance in the finale of The Mandalorian season 2 on his channel.

In the comments section, that Youtuber said that he had joined Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light and Magic. And it looks like they’ll put him to work soon. But the question is, would they want to make an entire show where the lead is basically CGI’ed?

Well, another option is to recast Luke Skywalker. And fans already do want to see Sebastian Stan in the role. Also, the report by Giant Freakin Robot says that this series would be kind of a Jedi Academy show where Luke trains the new generation of Jedi.

What do you think of this? Should they make a Luke Skywalker series, or should he get a movie?
