When The Mandalorian was a huge hit on Disney+, it made Star Wars more popular than the sequel trilogy ever could. As Din Djarin and Baby Yoda travel across the galaxy, they meet a lot of familiar faces from the outside world, like Bo-Katan Kryze and Boba Fett. Some of these people have already been turned into spin-off stories.

Since Jon Favreau started the MandoVerse, there have been many spin-off shows. The Book of Boba Fett recently became the first one to come out of the MandoVerse.

Din Djarin went to see Baby Yoda and set up appearances by Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano in the sixth episode of the series. This isn’t the only one. Tano had been Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan during the Clone Wars. When Tano saw the son of the legendary Sith Lord, it was a big surprise to see him. But it looks like it wasn’t just the audience who was surprised to see Ahsoka finally meet Luke Skywalker. People were surprised, too.

Ahsoka Actress Speaks On The Inevitable Surprise

Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka Tano on The Mandalorian, tweeted about how excited she was to work with Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker on The Book of Boba Fett Episode 6. During an interview with a fan, Dawson said she was scared to death and is still pinching herself that she had the chance to work with Hamill.

“There are no words for this. I was having a hard time. Mark Hamill played AHSOKA in the movie. I still can’t believe I got to work with him on the movie. I didn’t know until the day of that my scene was with LUKE!”

It was only on the day of filming that the Ahsoka star found out that her scenes on The Book of Boba Fett would be shared with Luke Skywalker, one of the best-known characters in Star Wars.

In What Way Do They Know Each Other?

There are a lot of ways that Luke and Ahsoka could have met, because there is a lot of overlap between their time lines. If they talked to each other at some point between the end of “Return of the Jedi” and “The Mandalorian,” that’s the most likely thing. Ahsoka knows about Luke by the time she makes her on-screen debut in the second season of The Mandalorian. She says that Grogu could be trained by “one of his own,” which is Luke. However, it isn’t clear whether or not Luke knows Ahsoka at that point in the story.

The Force could also be the reason that Luke and Ahsoka know each other. They know each other because of their relationship with Anakin Skywalker. Ahsoka was very close to her master, Anakin, and could sense and predict important events that he went through, like when he turned to the dark side in the last season of The Clone Wars. Luke also senses his father’s presence in the first two films of the original trilogy. It’s possible that the two people know each other because of their strong sense of the Force and how close they were to Anakin.

Luke and Ahsoka could have met at any point in the Star Wars timeline; but there are two points that are the most likely. In Star Wars Rebels, it was revealed that Ahsoka was the contact known as Fulcrum who helped form the Rebel Alliance. During the Galactic Civil War, however, she was mostly absent. Luke’s journey as a Jedi has been shown in the canonical Star Wars comics that took place between the first three films.

As of now, he hasn’t met Ahsoka during his search for information about the Jedi Order and their teachings before Return of the Jedi. There’s still a chance that they could meet before the end of the original trilogy. It’s also possible that they met during the five years after the Empire fell; but before Tano sent Djarin and Grogu to Tython in The Mandalorian season 2. It’s possible that she already knew about Luke and had him in mind; because there were very few Jedi around at the time.

There’s a good chance that the two will meet at some point. It doesn’t matter when. Between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Luke was on a mission to find and learn everything he could about the Jedi Order. After the Empire fell, Luke kept up the search for the Jedi. Even though she helped form the Rebellion, Ahsoka is more than likely to have kept an eye on the group. She may have even learned about the famous lightsaber-wielding hero who blew up the Death Star one day.

When Lucasfilm made its Star Wars show on Disney+; it took the fact that Marvel Studios has a bad reputation for being secretive very well. A lot of important people have been left out of the trailers for The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. This idea has been used in all of Disney+’s big movies and shows; but Grogu wasn’t even revealed until the first episode of The Mandalorian aired. If you want to know what happened to Luke Skywalker, Cad Bane, and a lot of other famous people; Lucasfilm has done a great job of keeping them under wraps ever since then.

It’s important that only a small percentage of the cast and crew know what’s going on; in order to keep the movie’s level of secrecy high. Director Jon Favreau has said that only a few crew members were on set for Luke Skywalker’s cameo in The Mandalorian. Most were told that the Jedi’s appearance would be made by Plo Koon from The Clone Wars. So many people will be surprised to learn that even the actress; in question was not told about her own sequences. Rosario Dawson, on the other hand, must have been very excited to work with the Star Wars legend.

The Ahsoka actress is likely to learn more about the MandoVerse in the future; as she prepares to play a much bigger role in the series. Her own show on Disney+ is expected to start filming this year; and it is expected to premiere in Spring 2023. For now, you can watch The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+.
