A significant Spider-Man Easter egg is revealed in these set images from the Sony Pictures film Madame Web‘s production. While Spider-Man has actively participated in the ever-expanding MCU of Marvel Studios. Sony Pictures has also been hard at work creating its own Spider-Man-related cinematic universe. With Venom, starring Tom Hardy, the studio debuted its own connected franchise under the name Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). Even though they are mainly based on Spider-Man villains, these new characters are being reinvented as anti-heroes who still protect the world but are shown to have dubious morals.

A significant Spider-Man reference has been revealed by the Madame Web film. It involves the Daily Bugle Newspaper. In a set photo from Madame Web, which is presently filming in Boston, The Daily Bugle could be seen.

The image depicts a vintage newspaper vending machine on the sidewalk. It offers several selections, including the Daily Bugle. The headline of the bugle clearly states the three upsetting words “girls,” “feared,” and “abducted,”. It is being partially covered by the dispenser door. Even as a backdrop, the situation is fairly dark. It offers yet another fascinating glimpse into how Madame Web is progressing.

It remains to be seen whether or not this Spider-Man Easter egg indicates that The Daily Bugle is merely a visual cameo or truly plays a part in Madame Web’s narrative. For a number of reasons, it has been commonly assumed that Madame Web will either contain some time travel components or maybe be a Spider-Man prequel. Now that the set photographs from July were released, it was apparent that Madame Web will at least partially take place in an early 2000s New York City, which served as the backdrop for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy.

This will lead to even more speculative discussions about Madame Web’s place in Sony’s expanded Spider-Man movie universe. Both Kraven the Hunter and Venom 3 are on the way. While nothing officially has been announced, whispers regarding Madame Web have led to a rather strange storyline. In that narrative, a group of Spider-themed characters from all over the Spider-Verse come together on a journey to save an unborn Peter Parker.
