WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for DOCTOR STRANGE: MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters throughout the world, with a 126-minute length full of crazy shocks. Doctor Strange, alongside Wong and the Scarlet Witch, visited many areas of the Multiverse, and the terrible revelations of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter were only the beginning of the shocking revelations. Marvel took what it did with the new characters in Spider-Man: No Way Home to a whole new level this time, especially by introducing the star-studded Illuminati for the first time. In the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange 2, legendary Hollywood icon Charlize Theron was introduced as the powerful sorceress Clea.

Even though she had previously stated that she had never been asked for an opportunity, Theron’s involvement in the MCU had been the topic of rumors for quite some time prior to Doctor Strange 2. She’s finally spoken up about her debut appearance in the MCU, following her surprising appearance in the film’s post-credits scene. Charlize Theron took to Twitter for the first time to address the audience about her part as Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ mid-credits scene.

Theron uploaded a photo of herself in a purple gown from a red carpet event, which was similar to the costume she wore at the end of the film. Along with her post, which can be seen below, she added the caption “Cat’s out of the bag.”

Clea was one of the thousands of characters believed to be appearing in Doctor Strange 2, especially since she’s one of Strange’s most well-known love interests in the comics. Her appearance in this film was first rumored in February, and now Theron can finally celebrate it with the Marvel audience, even if it must have been modest at first.

After Marvel Studios celebrated the franchise’s 14th anniversary by introducing one of the most powerful magicians ever seen in the comics to the big screen, Theron becomes yet another A-list talent to join the MCU. Her resume speaks for itself, with blockbuster action flicks like as Mad Max: Fury Road and the conclusion of the Fast & Furious franchise, and she now joins Benedict Cumberbatch as his MCU stalwart continues his adventure.

Even though she was reported for this picture for much of the last three years, Theron’s future with Clea remains a mystery, especially with no evidence pointing to when a third Doctor Strange film would go into development. But for now, she is ecstatic to have the chance to play such a pivotal role in Marvel Studios’ more fantastical films, especially now that the Multiverse is open and the Dark Dimension is once again on the horizon.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is presently in theaters all over the world.
