Mandalorian Creators Jon Favreau And Dave Filoni Reportedly Erasing Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

Did you feel like the Star Wars sequel trilogy didn’t really live up to your expectations, as well as the potential of the franchise? Then you might be in luck because, reportedly, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are working on deleting the sequel trilogy.

Dave Filoni And Jon Favreau Reportedly Erasing The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

This rumor comes from YouTuber Overlord DVD, who spoke to his sources, including Hollywood insider Kamran Pasha and concluded that Dave Filoni has started developing a plan to remove the sequel trilogy from the Star Wars story universe. In its place, they are offering a rebooted trilogy.

In the interview with Kamran Pasha, he said that both Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are rumored to be heading this big project. However, it’s obviously just speculation for now, and nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni

But if this does end up happening, then it won’t be surprising. After all, Filoni and Favreau have experience working within the Star Wars franchise on some of its more notable and memorable additions. Favreau especially has delivered recently with his Disney+ Star Wars show The Mandalorian.

It has been commercially successful and also critically beloved. But this doesn’t mean that Filoni is lagging in any way. He has worked on various series in the Star Wars universe since 2008. And he is the new executive creative director of Lucasfilm.

What’s Going to Happen In The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Reboot?

Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Characters

No information was given on the rumored sequel trilogy reboot and what it was going to be about. Also, the interview didn’t clear up any facts about what will happen to the characters we saw in the sequel trilogy movies like The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.

Now, the movies and even the characters too were pretty harshly criticized by fans. But it’s not like the movies were fully dumpster fires. People liked certain characters and found that they had the potential to be developed more.

So it’s possible that in the reboot, instead of starting over from scratch, those characters could be written better. After all, the biggest issue of the sequel trilogy was the lack of concrete plans regarding the direction of the franchise.

However, as we said before, nothing has been confirmed till now. So, it’s just a game of waiting and watching to see what’s being done with the sequel trilogy, if anything that is.
