Marvel Producer Addresses Kang’s MCU Presence
During a recent chat with the D23: Inside Disney podcast, Stephen Broussard, Marvel Studios’ VP of Production & Development, discussed concerns about how Kang won’t appear in most of the upcoming projects in the Multiverse Saga. Broussard looked back to the Infinity Saga and how Thanos was teased in small increments, even in movies where he wasn’t around. He pointed out that Kang’s ability to interact with many different Variants of himself makes him a fresh territory for Marvel.
Broussard made it clear that he doesn’t think Kang will appear in every film, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that the Multiverse Saga will entail more than just Kang. The new Saga will explore all kinds of parallel universes and Variants, as seen in movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
How Will Kang Make His Presence Felt In The MCU?
Josh Brolin’s portrayal of Thanos only appeared in a few of the 23 films of the Infinity Saga. In comparison, while Kang has various versions that offer more opportunities for exposure, he won’t be appearing too frequently. The Multiverse Saga has multiple ground-level heroes and projects to expand the narrative fully, and Phase 5 and Phase 6 will still feature some heroes staying closer to reality amid time-traveling and Multiverse-jumping themes. Kang’s limited appearances in confirmed upcoming projects before 2026 might worry some fans, but Marvel Studios intends to avoid overcrowding the storyline with the character. The Multiverse Saga will explore parallel universes and variants, with Kang’s limited screen time still having a significant impact on the greater narrative.
