It was obvious that Marvel Studios was expanding its cinematic universe in a significant way. As a result, the magnitude of that growth is beginning to emerge with each subsequent release. When Loki was confirmed for a second season during the Season 1 finale’s credits, one day after the sixth episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Captain America 4 became a reality. Even with its much-discussed Tony Stark and Gamora episode, What If…? appears to have a second season all but confirmed.
In the midst of all of this, it was announced that Kathryn Hahn will join the spin-off train with an upcoming Agatha Harkless series. As Marvel’s first Emmy-winning production, WandaVision has a devoted following eager to see more of the main characters from this and subsequent films. Another WandaVision character, one who has already been cast in the MCU’s theatrical debut, is reportedly getting her own spin-off.
Marvel Studios is developing a show centered on Monica Rambeau, played by Teyonah Parris, after her appearance in WandaVision, according to Twitter scooper Daniel RPK. There are currently no additional details available on this project.
Even before Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness tie-ins and the Agatha Harkness series get underway, WandaVision is already enjoying an impressive run in respect to other Marvel Studios’ efforts. After serving as Monica Rambeau’s origin narrative in the first MCU Disney+ episode, the former astronaut will now have the opportunity to take the lead in her own journey.
Before going through the Hex and getting her powers, Teyonah Parris was a high-ranking SWORD captain. The character was first depicted by Akira Akbar in 2019’s Captain Marvel. In addition to The Marvels in 2022, she’ll have an opportunity to shine even brighter as the series’ star. What remains to be seen is exactly when the Monica Rambeau series will begin production. This, and where it will take place in the MCU’s grand scheme of things.
Marvel Studios may offer Monica a solo epic adventure before her debut theatrical film. This all depends on when The Marvels takes place. However, her next endeavor should be a fascinating addition to the story regardless of what details are revealed. As for the title, you may call it Monica Rambeau, Photon, or something else if you want.
But that’s just icing on the cupcake. All nine episodes of Disney+’s WandaVision include Teyonah Parris. In The Marvels, which opens in theatres on November 11, 2022, she’ll reprise her role as Monica Rambeau.
