Marvel’s Latest Comic Book Crossover Event, Avengers Forever, Has Revealed A Shocking Twist By Making Loki, The God Of Mischief, An Avenger.
Marvel has recently released its latest comic book crossover event titled Avengers Forever, which features Ghost Rider and Deathlok as they search the multiverse for an answer against the Multiversal Masters of Evil who have already destroyed multiple Earths. In this latest installment, the mystery man behind the inter-dimensional dream team of Avengers has finally been revealed, and it’s none other than Loki, the God of Mischief.
Loki
Avengers Forever #15 revealed Loki as the mysterious Avenger Prime who has been assembling a team of heroes from across the Multiverse. While some may consider this a classic trick by the God of Mischief, the comic also delves into the deeper meaning behind the iconic battle cry “Avengers Assemble!”
Loki As An Avenger
Loki describes the power and hope behind the iconic Marvel battle cry as a “declaration” that defies “time and space” and “the bounds of reality itself” as he fights alongside his former foes. He goes on to interpret the phrase as “a dam holding back the waters of entropy,” admitting that he finds solace in shouting those heroic words. Loki also examines the deeper meaning of the phrase, comparing it to “a ritual” the Avengers “cling to” when facing “inevitable ruin.” This shows that Loki sees himself as a true component of the Avengers, which is a significant turnaround from his glory days of trying to exterminate these very same heroes.
Loki Could Replace Captain America As The Leader Of The Avengers In Upcoming Movie
The Avengers Forever comic portrays Loki as repentant and redeemable, and now he’s leading a mega-level Avengers team. Loki’s own MCU series just sparked something similar, showing that the God of Mischief may have a greater purpose than terrorizing Midgard and clashing with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The series also hinted that the big villain of Phase 5, Kang the Conqueror, will also be Loki’s biggest threat going forward. With the knowledge that Loki has about He Who Remains, the TVA, and the unraveling of the Multiverse, he may be the key to stopping Kang the Conqueror in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
