With Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson concluded her part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it appears as if the actress still can stay and work with Marvel Studios. In her long acting career, Scarlett Johansson has won a significant number of awards.

The well-accomplished star made her Marvel debut as Natasha Romanoff in 2010 with Iron Man 2. Romanoff fought with Tony Stark against Justin Hammer and Whiplash. After her stunning performance in the film, she received a lot of fame. And then, Johansson gathered with the other to create a team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in 2012’s The Avengers.

Following the massive success of the Joss Whedon-directed movie, Scarlett Johansson advanced with her role in the MCU. The actress appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Natasha Romanoff’s part in the universe came to an end in Endgame. To attain the Soul Stone to save the world, she was seen surrendering her life.

As the stories advance in the MCU, new characters are being brought in constantly. However, some reports claim Johansson’s return. And that the actress is teaming with Marvel Studios for another project.

Scarlett Johansson will return to work with Marvel Studios

Recently, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the American Cinematheque Awards Night took place. And Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige generously praised paid Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson. This was after the actress became the 35th recipient of the said award. According to Deadline, Feige admired Johansson for her various qualities.

The Marvel president commended her “talent, vision, intelligence, and savvy as an actress and producer.” Kevin Feige also made sure to include a curious piece of information. He teased that the MCU veteran has a “top secret Marvel Studios project” down the line. And also added that the part has nothing to do with Natasha Romanoff.

Feige also mentioned that Scarlett Johansson would be one of the producers for the forthcoming Marvel project.

Scarlett Johansson’s potential future MCU project

Scarlett Johansson’s legal battle with Disney regarding her MCU solo film Black Widow’s parallel release lasted quite a while. While things did get a little chaotic, they seemed to have worked out well. Because the actress has left it in the past. At least, that’s what Feige’s latest disclosure suggests.

There are still many details about the said “top secret” project as Marvel prefers to keep things quiet. But it’s safe to assume that the long years Johansson spent in the MCU will work in her favor when it comes to any future Marvel projects. Feige confirmed that the project is not related to Natasha Romanoff’s Black Widow. This also means that Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will not be involved.

With that in mind, it can be assumed that this upcoming MCU project would feature Johansson as the female lead. Another theory suggests the possibility of the long impending A-Force movie. Avengers: Endgame did an incredible job displaying combat in the final battle that showed the female Avengers using their notable strengths. Thus, it would make sense if Marvel finally decides to flesh out the idea.

Johansson’s involvement in a possible A-Force project would only be justifiable. Seeing she is the female Avenger that was responsible for starting it all during the Infinity Saga. Apart from this, there are several projects that Johansson could work on. These are Thunderbolts or even a team-up for Avengers 5. Another possibility is exploring the animation category of Marvel Studios, as the actress might find it interesting.

Right now, Marvel has all its Phase 4 projects lined up. And yet, it is a delight to hear that the franchise’s veteran Johansson will return to the MCU soon.
