Actress Deborah Ann Woll, known for her role as Karen Page in Netflix’s Daredevil series, has provided fans with a disheartening update regarding her potential return in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil Born Again streaming series. Despite expressing her willingness to reprise her role, Woll has revealed that she has not been contacted by Marvel. Moreover, neither Woll nor Elden Henson, who portrayed Foggy Nelson, are expected to make a comeback.

During her appearance at ICCCon in Nashville, Tennessee, Woll addressed her involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the possibility of joining any upcoming DC projects. However, she seemed uncertain about the crossover potential, stating, “I don’t know—do they let us do that? Am I allowed to cross the streams. I feel like that would be very dangerous… Yeah, there’s a few people who can do it, but I don’t know if I’m one of those lucky few. I don’t know about DC.”

Disappointingly for fans, Woll confirmed that there are currently no plans for her character in the Born Again series. Reflecting on her experience with Daredevil, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity but acknowledged her lack of involvement in the broader comic book universe: “You know, this was so cool to be a part of [Daredevil], and I think it was such a unique little corner of the MCU that felt really special… I’m really happy with what I’ve had, and there is no plans for me so far on either side of the comic book universe, but I’m so grateful for the experience that I had.”

Karen Page, a significant character in Matt Murdock’s life, is noticeably missing from the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, leaving fans perplexed. Speculation arises whether her character might be killed offscreen, leaving Murdock to navigate a world without the woman he loved. Nevertheless, it remains unclear why Marvel Studios would overlook the opportunity to utilize Woll’s talents more effectively.

While Karen Page and Foggy Nelson may not be returning, fans can still anticipate the appearances of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Jonathan Bernthal’s Punisher. Rumors suggest that Bernthal’s role was initially intended for Kristen Ritter’s Jessica Jones.

With regards to the release date of the series, originally set for the next Spring, the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike has caused production to slow down. Consequently, the debut of Daredevil: Born Again may potentially be delayed beyond its originally scheduled date in Spring 2024.
