The Thunderbolts is a team of anti-heroes and supervillains who debuted in the Incredible Hulk comics No 449.

The Thunderbolts team is sent on missions commissioned by the government and they are given black-ops missions or more dangerous for the Avengers to take on the missions.

The characters who could appear in the Thunderbolts team are likely to be

  • John Walker (US Agent)
  • Baron Zemo
  • Yelena Belova
  • The Ghost
  • Taskmaster
  • The Abomination
  • Thunderbolt Ross (Red Hulk)

and there are some other characters like The Punisher, Deadpool, and some avengers like Hawkeye and the Winter Soldier.

General Ross

In the MCU, the Thunderbolts team is put together by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Val) who works for Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.

However, the most challenging part will be filling the shoes of Thunderbolt Ross, The actor William Hurt passed away on March 13th, 2022.

Unless Marvel looks to recast the role, Val could be the one to take the leadership role or Baron Zemo could lead the Thunderbolts team as he did in the comics.

This movie is reportedly set to begin shooting in the early summer of 2023, and according to a source Marvel is already in contact with some current MCU stars to make sure that they are available to shoot in that period.

We can get more news about the movie at the D23 event held on September 9th, 2022.
