Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a roaring success with critics and audience alike praising it for its tribute to Chadwick Boseman and also perfectly introducing Namor in the MCU. But as discussion about the movie continues, there’s a question fans are wondering about. In Thor: Love and Thunder, during the scene with Zeus, where all the gods have gathered, we see a Feathered Serpent God. So if he’s the real K’uk’kulkan, then why is Namor called one so? Let us break it down.

Why Is Namor Called K’uk’kulkan?

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever several characters refer to him as K’uk’kulkan. But there’s a catch. M’Baku says that his people think of him AS a god. No one states that he is the god himself. His people think of him as a god probably because he has been alive since the 1500s and has winged feet along with pointy ears.

So the Talokans probably think of him as a mortal avatar of the actual god K’uk’kulkan. It’s similar to X-Men’s storm getting treated like a goddess of weather or storms due to her powers. The actual myths of K’uk’kulkan must have existed for hundreds of years before Namor’s existence. As such, the Feathered Serpent God we saw in Thor: Love and Thunder is probably the actual K’uk’kulkan.

Where Will We See Namor Next?

This is the big question on everyone’s minds. We don’t know which project Namor will appear next in. But if we had to hazard a guess, then it would be Captain America: New World Order and The Thunderbolts. This is because these two films will deal with the US Government and also feature Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who is escalating tensions between Wakanda and US.

The Vibranium hunt will surely grow stronger and overtime, the US government will come to know of Namor and Talokan’s existence. It just remains to be seen how this plays out. However, if fans are expecting a solo Namor movie, then they will be disappointed.

This is cause there are character rights issues between Disney and Universal. But as per rumours, those rights will apparently revert back to Disney in two years. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
