She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be showing us many superhero collaborations where Jen is expected to represent them. We have already seen Jen and Wong team up on the case of Donny Blaze. The show has also been giving us constant teasers for the appearance of Daredevil in She-Hulk. However, there is another obscure Marvel superhero who has been teased in a She-Hulk episode. And it is none other than Leap-Frog. So here’s everything you need to know about Leap-Frog and his appearance on She-Hulk

Remember the superhero fashion designer Luke Jacobson? During She-Hulk episode 5 when Nikki Ramos and Jennifer Walters went to the super exclusive Luke Jacobson to get She-Hulk a nice fitted suit, we notice that he designs suits for several superheroes. In fact, later during the episode, we see that Luke has designed a new suit for Daredevil aka Matt Murdock. However, during She-Hulk’s first visit there was another blonde-haired man leaving the facility with a similar black bag. This meant that he too was Luke’s client and had a suit made for himself.

What’s interesting is that this man seems to be Brandon Stanley, the actor who has been rumored to play Leap-Frog. Brandon Stanley was present during the She-Hulk premiere in Los Angeles. His name also appeared during the credits of that episode and he was said to be playing Eugene Patilio. For fans of Marvel comics, they will be knowing already that Eugene Patilio, son of Vincent Patilio, is the secret identity of Leap-Frog or rather Frog-Man.

So as we have already established, it isn’t exactly the villain Leap-Frog aka Vincent Patilio that we’ll be seeing. It will be Eugene Patilio who took up the mantle after his father as Frog-Man and tried to start a somewhat earnest legacy so as to escape his father’s crimes. Marvel is trying to produce a mix of both father and son through this one character itself. So, we will briefly explore both these characters.

Who are Vincent and Eugene Patilio?

Vincent Patilio or the original Leap-Frog was a failed inventor who made his own suit and embarked on a life of crime. He became a Daredevil villain and was naturally defeated by Matt Murdock. In fact, he had multiple run ins with Daredevil and showed some skill especially with his speed that was greater than Daredevil’s other villains. The electrically powered leaping coils within his suit allowed him to jump over 6 stories. However, Leap-Frog did not find much success in his career as a supervillain either. His financial troubles, anger issues and humiliation led him to become an abusive father to Eugene Patilio. Naturally father and son became alienated as the years passed by especially after the death of Eugene’s mother as she succumbed to cancer.

One day when Eugene found his father’s suit in a closet, he decided to do something with it. Eugene updated the suit and took on the alias Frog-Man to become the antithesis of all that his father represented. In She-Hulk, this is where Luke Jacobson would come in, to help him fix up the suit. As Frog-Man, he tried to help Spider-Man and the Human Torch fight crime. But he wasn’t super skilled at it. Nonetheless he kept trying and got lucky at times when he successfully caught the villains like Speed Demon.

What’s even more wholesome is that Eugene inspired his father to don the Leap-Frog costume and become a hero instead. Vincent turned around a new leaf and as Leap-Frog he helped Frog-Man and Spider-Man take down criminals. They also managed to patch things between them and repair their father son relationship.

We do not know exactly what role Leap-Frog will be playing in She-Hulk, however, Brandon Stanley has said that he’ll be a superhero. Meanwhile, all Kevin Feige has said is that fans have no idea what to expect from this character. There is one storyline in the comics where Leap-Frog, the Daredevil villain, appeared in court and hired none other than Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson to fight his case in court. So we could be seeing something like that, but only time will tell!
