Phase 4 of the MCU is off to a great start. WandaVision, Loki, and The Falcon, and The Winter Soldier have propelled the MCU in the right direction. Next up on the list is Shang-Chi, The Eternals, and more.
A lot of these movies are heavily anticipated as they are expected to usher in a new era of the MCU. But one of the movies on the list has been pretty much ignored. And that’s the Ant-Man 3 movie.
Many think that there’s not much in the new Ant-Man movie to get excited about. However, the movie itself holds a pretty special place in the Phase 4 MCU slate.
The third movie in the Ant-Man Trilogy is said to be the very first movie that will have Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors). Although there are reports that the villain might show up in The Eternals first. Fans think that he is the next big villain in the MCU after Thanos.
As such, Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania could definitely lay the groundwork for what will happen in Avengers 5. Not to mention the fact that Kathryn Newton’s casting as Cassie Lang implies that she is going to become a superhero just like her dad.
And this, in turn, could help kickstart the Young Avengers project that has been rumored for many years. But that’s not all.
Now there has been another casting leak that suggests that a well-known Marvel comics character could debut in the movie.
Marvel Studios Is Looking For A 10-Year Old Girl With Singing And Dancing Talents
Murphy’s Multiverse is reporting that Marvel is in the process of casting a major role in Ant-Man 3 that’s set to begin filming in the UK next July.
As per the report, the studio is looking for a “young female of any ethnicity” between the ages of 9 and 12 to play an “unnamed lead character” in the movie.
The character is going to be 10 years old in the film, and the casting director is looking for an actress who has “singing, dancing, and comedic chops.” The report also notes that it’s unlikely that the movie is looking to cast a younger version of Kathryn Newton’s Cassie Lang.
This is because Abby Ryder Fortson (who portrayed Cassie in the two Ant-Man movies till now) can still fill that role. So who could it be? We have one dazzling idea.

Of course, it’s not possible to accurately know for sure who that character is till Marvel reveals the whole cast of characters for the movie. However, with that being said, we must say that the “singing, dancing, and comedic chops” part drew our attention.
Based on just this, it’s possible that an iconic character from the Marvel comics could show up in the MCU. We are talking about Dazzler. In the comics, Dazzler is someone who can turn sound into light. She is also a professional singer.
Apart from this, she can create dazzling light shows that can blind people. Also, she can create holograms as well as shoot out bursts of lights from her body. Basically, she’s a pop star that’s an actual superhero.
As for why she hasn’t shown up till now, know that Dazzler is a mutant in the Marvel comics. So that’s why she hasn’t shown up in the MCU till now. However, Marvel can now use mutants in the MCU.
As such, it’s possible that they are planting seeds for the X-Men by introducing mutants in their new projects.
Also, you might ask- why Dazzler our of all the mutants? One answer is that it could be because of the lighter and more comedic tone of the Ant-Man franchise. Viewers of X-Men: Dark Phoenix might have noticed that the character showed up in the movie.
However, this short appearance means that Marvel Studios doesn’t need to worry about having to get viewers used to seeing a new actress in the role. This will obviously be a big hurdle for them when they cast Wolverine.
Are We Sure That It’s Dazzler?
Right now, let us assume that this casting report is true and that Marvel Studios is really looking to cast a 10 years old girl in a mystery role for the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania movie.
There are a few possibilities for who it can be. It could, in fact, be a young version of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet or Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne as well. However, it can’t be denied that Dazzler is the one that’s the most exciting right now.
Also, logically, an actress would only need the singing or dancing skills for this role. So it’s possible that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania might give us our very first super-powered pop star.
Also, if Marvel wants to keep her comic book origin, then she would be the first mutant in the MCU, even though there are other people and characters who think they have a claim to that title.
But right now, this is all speculation. It remains to be seen what MCU actually has up its sleeves regarding the introduction of mutants.
