Ever since the Netflix/Marvel show got canceled, fans have wanted to see those characters in the MCU. There have even been fan campaigns to bring their fave characters back again.

But there’s one thing that has been the subject of intense debates and the reason behind fan anxiety. This is the fact that no one really knows if Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige even considers the Marvel/Netflix TV shows canon to the MCU or not.

Are The Netflix/Marvel Shows A Part Of The MCU?

Hawkeye And Kingpin

Is not that uncommon for the Marvel TV projects to at least be vaguely connected to the theatrical side of things. Viewers of the Marvel show Agents of Shield will remember that during the early days of MCU’s phase 2, the Shop was still connected to the MCU.

Also, the ABC series did release crossover episodes with the latest theatrical offerings. So it’s possible that regarding Daredevil and the other Netflix Marvel shows Kevin Feige has taken a similar approach.

Regardless to say, phase 4 of the MCU has done pretty much that by interlinking the shows and movies. Right now, it looks like fans might get to see what’s the actual case sooner rather than later. This is because Charlie Cox has been heavily rumored to come back to the MCU as Daredevil.

More specifically, he is rumored to come back in the Spider-Man: No Way Home movie. But it doesn’t look like he will be the only star from the Marvel Netflix shows to come back.

Rumors say that along with him, Kingpin might show up as well. But instead of an MCU movie, it will be in a Disney+ show.

Kingpin Might Show Up In The Hawkeye Series

As per a post by the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers moderator team, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin might be showing up in the upcoming Hawkeye Disney+ show.

This source also stated that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil was originally going to show up in the Hawkeye series as well. But that didn’t happen due to scheduling conflicts.

Additionally, the report indicated that Hawkeye is all set to premiere around the same time as the Spider-Man: No Way Home movie because the two are connected.

It should be noted that the same source also previously said that Hawkeye would begin airing in November 2021. So this means that the later episodes would indeed align with the release date of the latest Spider-Man movie that’s December 17.

It might seem quite surprising to some that Kingpin might be showing up in the Hawkeye series. But Wilson Fisk, AKA Kingpin actually had a very obvious link to the plot of the show through the hero Maya Lopez (who btw is deaf). She is better known as Echo.

Within Marvel comics Maya became the adopted daughter of Fisk after her biological father, a mob enforcer of the crime King, was killed under Kingpin’s orders. Know that Lopez has already been cast in the Hawkeye show and will be played by Alaqua Cox.

There are already reports that she will be getting her own spin-off show from Hawkeye at Disney+. So if the Echo show gets ordered, then there’s a full possibility that both Daredevil and Kingpin might return once again. And this time as part of the MCU fully. Not to mention the fact that it will help move the story along as well.

This is because Daredevil and Echo have shared a tonne of adventures in the past. After all, Fisk tried to use her to defeat the blind hero. But this didn’t happen, and instead, Matt and Maya started dating.

Talk about a twist in the story!. Now this romantic relationship could happen down the line in the MCU. And it does seem to be a possibility to us especially in a show titled Echo.

Rumours Of Daredevil’s Return Get Strengthened

The reports of links between No Way Home and Hawkeye only further the rumors that Daredevil might return in the new Spider-Man movie. As said before, both the projects are all set to be released about the same time.

Not to mention that both the projects are set during the Christmas season. So it does seem to indicate that both of the MCU projects are set around the same time frame.

It’s also interesting to note that Cox was going to show up in both the MCU projects. But he couldn’t be in both because of scheduling conflicts. After all, it’s widely known that the filming of Hawkeye and No Way Home did overlap.

However, generally, it wouldn’t have been noticed by many since a lot of Marvel projects do shoot at the same time. But since the rumors of Cox being in both started doing the rounds, so people began connecting the dots.

Marvel Studios has confirmed that it will continue releasing new episodes of its Disney+ series on Wednesdays. And the theatrical movies will obviously be released on Fridays.

Now there’s really nothing better than two interlinked MCU projects releasing all at the same time. Fans will surely be having a lot of fun in November and December.

Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+ in late 2021.
