Tom Holland’s MCU Spider-Man may have stopped emerging if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man had not clashed earlier in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Due to the conflicting reactions to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony Pictures reevaluated its strategy for the series, contemplating several possible sequels before reinventing the property and sharing the cinematic rights to Spider-Man with Marvel Studios, culminating in Tom Holland’s participation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sony did investigate a multiverse crossover between Marc Webb and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, which would have significantly influenced the MCU’s take on the web-slinger. However, Sony decided against it.

After the release of the second film in the Amazing Spider-Man series, there was a sense of uneasiness. With The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony Pictures had high hopes for a Sinister Six picture and other sequels and spin-offs that would explore Spider-Man’s legendary rogues’ gallery and supporting cast.

Sony Pictures had high hopes for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man incarnations were one of Sony’s weirder concepts before they finally partnered with Marvel Studios.

There were plans for a Spider-Man: No Way Home crossover between the two Peters Parker, with Sam Raimi as the director of Sony’s multiversal film, which was to be named Spider-Man Vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. However, regardless of whether or not the Amazing Spider-Man series was extended, the movie’s impact on Marvel’s Cinematic Universe would have been more significant regardless of the film’s box office success.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man debut in Captain America: Civil War is impossible to envision without Spider-Man vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, which would have delayed, if not halted, his MCU debut.

What Would Happen If Spider-Man And Amazing Spider-Man Fought?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Spider-Man may never be made. Consequently, new interest in the Raimi and Webb Spider-Man films and future Sony projects situated in either continuity might be sparked. For example, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies may continue alongside Marc Webb’s, and future multiversal crossovers, such as Spider-Verse or Spider-Geddon comic tales, may be developed.

If Spider-Man vs. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 flopped like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it might have resulted in Spider-Man’s relaunch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But this would abruptly stop the Infinity Saga at a crucial juncture for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who made his debut in Civil War. The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have completed the Infinity Saga without Spider-Man and instead introduced the web-slinger in Phase 4.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man would be acquainted with each other if a crossover picture like No Way Home were to occur in this scenario.
