Movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home, starring Tom Holland, has been making headlines all over lately. I am making NWH the final MCU production of the year and the most prominent Spidey feature ever. There’s also Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse, a new movie about the web-slinging superhero that many seem to be overlooking.
Miles Morales assumes the mantle of Spider-Man following the death of Peter Parker in the first film, Into the Spider-Verse. Many people consider it to be one of the best superhero films ever made. Moreover, it’s frequently listed on those lists. Sony has produced a teaser for Miles’ upcoming journey just in time to keep fans from losing track of what Miles is up to. Despite how great the clip is, can there be other reasons Sony is highlighting Miles? Possibly, but it’s not a foregone conclusion.
Phillip Lord and Christopher Miller, makers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, were asked if Miles Morales would appear in No Way Home. The two claim to have seen No Way Home and would be shocked if Miles Morales’ possible cameo appearance became a reality. “Everyone is part of the Spider-verse” was the tempting tidbit they subsequently supplied.
“We’ve seen No Way Home, so we would be VERY surprised if Miles showed up. But everyone is part of the Spider-Verse.”
Whoever hoped for a Miles Morales’ Possible cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home can probably forget about it. An animated Miles would have been an excellent addition to the story. There may be a future Spider-Verse feature with Tom Holland’s Spidey, as the producer hinted at. Because of the nature of the subject, that option has always existed—and it would be unusual if it didn’t.
Miles’ animated escapades could benefit from Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s reported inclusion in No Way Home. In the first film, it almost happened, but it didn’t. For those who’ve been keeping an eye on rumours, hopefully, the prior Spider-Men won’t be too long away from being seen in action!
