Jennifer Lawrence, known for her exceptional acting talent showcased in movies like The Hunger Games and Red Sparrow, has been recognized with numerous awards throughout her career. Among them, she holds the distinction of being the second youngest actor to win an Oscar and the youngest actress with three Oscar nominations. Her achievements at such a young age are the dreams of many aspiring actors. However, there is one award she chose not to flaunt – her Oscar.

While Jennifer Lawrence’s appearance on stage to receive her Oscar was already a memorable moment, a year later, the story took an even more intriguing turn. In an interview, the actress revealed that she had no clue about the whereabouts of her award, expressing her sincere hope that it hadn’t been lost. From her infamous trip on the stairs to her subsequent loss of the award, her journey with the Oscar became an amusing tale.

“I don’t know where it is,” Lawrence admitted. “I think it might be in Kentucky. I hope it’s in Kentucky. If not, it’s gone. I don’t have it.”

Despite the concern surrounding the missing Oscar, Lawrence approached the situation with a light-hearted attitude. While she believed it might be in Kentucky, she also acknowledged the possibility of it being lost forever. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, as she eventually managed to recover it.

Keeping The Award Hidden

Interestingly, even after finding her Oscar, Jennifer Lawrence made the decision to keep it away from public display. Although prestigious awards are often showcased for all to see, Lawrence wanted to avoid appearing boastful. Instead, she preferred to keep it hidden.

“I wanted to hide it, but she said we had to show it off, keep it in plain sight. I didn’t agree because every time somebody came over, it just seemed like I wanted them to see it. So we compromised: the Oscar is at my parents’ house. They keep it on the piano.”

Despite her inclination to keep the award concealed, Lawrence’s mother had a different perspective and insisted on displaying her daughter’s achievement. As a compromise, the Oscar now rests in Lawrence’s parents’ house, allowing her family to celebrate the win and take pride in their daughter’s accomplishment while maintaining a sense of modesty on her part.
