According to the latest count on January 21, 2022, the first trailer for Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight won over 1,000,000 likes on Marvel’s official YouTube channel. This number just sets the record for the most-liked trailer for an MCU Disney+ series. Not only that, the trailer becomes the first ever in this category to break the 1,000,000 likes milestone.
If we look at Marvel’s previous Disney+ shows, there is Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s WandaVision. The trailer for the hit series is currently at a mark of 760,000 likes. This is after the show debuted at the 2020 Emmy Awards. Whereas WandaVision’s second trailer from Disney Investor Day 2020 now has 370,000 likes.
Secondly, there Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The show’s first full trailer from Disney Investor Day has 433,000 likes. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s official Super Bowl trailer impressively surpassed that first total with 652,000 likes on YouTube in February 2021.
In addition to this, Disney Investor Day 2020 also featured the first full look at Loki. The show stands strong with an astounding number of 695,000 likes in just over a year. Tom Hiddleston’s first MCU standalone show debuted its second trailer in April 2020. And the number came slightly ahead of its predecessor, with 723,000 likes.
Not only that, the Disney Investor Day also launched the first trailer for What If…? But the show fell back against the rest with 369,000 likes. However, the second trailer for the MCU’s first fully-animated Disney+ release saw a huge rise in the number, now sitting at 646,000 likes in total.
Next in line is Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel. Marvel Studios or Disney+ has not launched a full trailer or the official release date yet. Lastly, the first full trailer for Marvel’s last outing of the year 2021. Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, sealed the deal with whopping numbers through its September 2021 release. The video continued to hold the highest record of likes after it premiered. Right now, Hawkeye’s full trailer stands second in line with 915,000 likes on YouTube.
The full rankings for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series according to the number of likes received is as below:
Marvel Studios has created a successful trend of revealing the first looks of their upcoming projects through the most imaginative trailers. This is obvious from the stunning amount of likes on MCU movies and TV show trailers. Regarding the MCU’s theatrical releases, the franchise takes pride in owning the titles of four most-viewed trailers in history in their first 24 hours. Recently, the full trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home smashed the viewership record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.
For now, Marvel Studios is working towards marketing its various titles for the Disney+ slate. And the excitement is intensely rising for Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight.
Isaac’s character will be a spectacular addition to the MCU’s vast assembly. Also, the series will be the first time Marvel introduces a character by giving them a Disney+ solo project. And this is in the history of small screen streaming shows since the beginning of 2021. It is true that every Disney+ show has announced a significant character for themselves. For instance, Monica Rambeau in WandaVision and Kate Bishop in Hawkeye. However, Isaac’s Marc Spector is set to be the main focus of the upcoming psychological thriller.
Now, will Moon Knight continue to hold this record? If so, for how long? The point to consider here is Marvel,’s more magnificent shows like Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel making their way into the MCU’s greater picture. Both the shows are already working on revealing their first looks. And eventually, they make it to eager audiences. Whether if either of them manages to cross Moon Knight’s numbers, the Disney+ show has fans readily invested. And the hype is bound to escalate as we move closer to its official premiere.
Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 30, 2022.
